Where To Stay In Augusta,GA | The Partridge Inn, Curio Collection by Hilton Hotel Thursday 24 August, 2017

Time for another trip! I know I know when am I ever home? Well its good for me to leave Atlanta sometimes and explore within my own State. I got an opportunity to visit Augusta,Ga for the very first time and review The Partridge Inn, Curio Collection by Hilton Hotel. I never been to Augusta but I am always open to explore a new city and enjoy a great hotel stay. The Partridge Inn is only 2 hours away from Atlanta so it wasnt a bad drive at all.

Known as “The Grand Hotel of the Classic South,” and beloved by heads of state, business luminaries and celebrities for over a century, The Partridge Inn has undergone an extensive yet careful restoration; allowing guests to not only experience the original 1836 house which remains encompassed within the building, but to also enjoy the comforts and conveniences of a contemporary luxury hotel.

Speaking of a 2 Hour Drive, I drove the 2017 Ford Escape for this Atlanta to Augusta getaway.

I also didn’t go along. I made it a mini girlfiend getaway with my close girl friend Marie! She is still new to the state of Georgia and she was excited to visit Augusta for the first time with me! She loves quick getaways and she loved the idea of also getting out of Atlanta as well for a second.

FUN HOTEL FACTS

  • The Partridge Inn celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2010. Most notably, in 1923, the hotel’s magnificent ballroom was the site of a dinner for President Warren Harding, an event the Augusta Chronicle described as “the grandest in the history of the city.”
  • The Partridge Inn has enjoyed visits from many celebrities, golf elites and politicians throughout the years of its existence including Bob Dylan, Crystal Gayle, Reba McIntyre, Curtis Strange, Paul Azinger, Gary Player, Dennis Quaid and James Brown.
  • The Partridge Inn was the first hotel in Georgia selected for inclusion in Historic Hotels of America, The Partridge Inn is known for its distinctly Southern details, including beautiful verandahs, classic columns, stately magnolia trees and unparalleled personal service.
  • In its early days, a U.S. Post Office, Summerville Drug Store, Flower Shop, News and Book Shop, Barber Shop, Ladies’ Hairdressing and Manicure Parlor were all conveniently located in the lobby of The Partridge Inn.

  • All rooms, the restaurant and public areas of the hotel have recently undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation to maintain the southern and historic charm of the property, while incorporating modern day conveniences.

The PI Bar & Grill

Live entertainment in the bar lounge Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 10pm

The PI Bar and Grill Serves a variety of cuisine to satisfy the most discerning palate. Chef Dominic Simpson is the one who creates the delicious and unique dishes that are inspired from creole Louisiana meals.  Check out some of the dishes below.

Grilled Octopus (app)

Braised Ostrich (app)

Cajun Gumbo (app)

Chicken with asparagus and potatoes (original entree friend chicken with mac and cheese + collard)

I got this option of my meal altered because I didn’t want friend chicken. If you do want a more soul food option this comes with Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese and Collard greens. If you choose to go with a more baked option then you will get this revised version of the meal. Delicious!

BREAKFAST

You can have your choice of breakfast made to order off the menu or do the breakfast buffet. We didnt get a chance to experience brunch, but Sundays its brunch day!

You can choose to eat outside too with plenty of chic decor seating to choose from. Once again the designer of the property paid attention to detail and made to sure to bring lots of modern flair to their furniture even outside as well.

The rooftop Penthouse overlooks all of Augusta and has been voted Best View by readers of Augusta Magazine.  The entire 6th floor has a living room, dining area, kitchen, and three bedrooms. Exclusive rooftop Penthouse that has a living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms, and a deck overlooking all of Augusta.  This makes up the entire 6th floor. When not booked, the Penthouse bar is open for guests to enjoy a cocktail and a view of the city.

My favorite part of this hotel was definitely the pool. Marie and I definitely chilled out and enjoyed this area quite a few times. It is so pretty and the actual designing of the pool caught our eye.

The pool has as natural blue tone that resembles the oceans verses other standard pools that has the typical electric blue look. The water was never too cold and again the design was beautiful and felt like I was swimming in the sea instead of a pool. More pools should have a natural tone to it. Of course I took some cute poolside photos too.

We really enjoyed The Partridge Inn. This was a great weekend getaway to escape the city of Atlanta to go to Augusta. It was my first time as I said early but it was relaxing and enjoyable thanks to this hotel stay. It was beyond comfortable it felt like home instead of a hotel. I guess The Partridge Inn wanted to make sure to keep its country southern hospitality authentic.
