{Event Recap} Dr.Miracles RX4STYLE | BET HipHop Awards 2013 Thursday 31 October, 2013
#RX4STYLE
Dr.Miracles {known for it’s ‘Feel It Formula”} linked with Today’s Black Woman and Hype Hair to breathe life into the concept of healthy hair meeting Hip Hop. With the rebranding of the Dr.Miracles product, they hosted a swanky Style Lounge called #RX4STYLE to kick off the Hip Hop Awards for a star-studded event.
It was not just an event, but an experience to feel like a celeb to kick-off the hip-hop weekend with class. It was a lavish suite where attendee got pampered with complimentary hairstyles, make-up applications, artwork, red carpet appearances and OMG BOOTH fun!
I am so happy I was able to attend because it was the only BET Hip Hop Award event I could attend, due to I had to fly out to NYC the next day {more on that later}.
Hype Hair
This part of the lounge is where the attendees got complimentary hairstyles from professional stylist at the Drexina Nelson Salon. They utilized the Dr.Miracle products to of course style the participants hair that can be used on both men and women.
CARICATURE
So there was a artist station where you got a custom shirt made and a caricature of yourself made by students. This was so cool because the artist, Aziza Andre, did my photo in 5 minutes. No I am serious she was that quick a good! So talented. If you are interest in getting a facial shot of your own people feel free to contact her at azizaandre@gmail.com
THE LOOK BY JOI
Next was a makeup booth station. I got my makeup done by Joi of The Look by Joi and may I say she said a wonderful job. She gave me just want I wanted, natural GLAM! Check her out at thelookbyjoi.com
CELEB RED CARPET
Judy Jae Nash of Vh1 “Tough Love Co-Ed“
Africa Miranda of The New Atlanta + Bo Talley
Africa Miranda chatting about her natural hair routine and her being on The New Atlanta. Let me tell you I love her, thank you for representing for the curly girls on TV! Yes!!!
Charlie Baltimore (rapper) – where you been girl?!
Cynthia Bailey of Real Housewives of Atlanta (In the OMG Booth)
Cynthia Bailey taking pictures with the Artistic Kids. Just a little tidbit, they were also filming an episode of the new season of Real Housewives of Atlanta at the event, and I might make a cameo {we will see}.
Africa Miranda (Bravo’s The New Atlanta) + I
Judy Jae Nash (VH1 Tough Love Co-Ed) + I
Thanks to Voscato for being a sponsor at the event!
One of the best things about the event was the swag bag. And in the bag is the sample Curl Care Styling Kit. I actually really wanted this after receiving some products a while ago here so this was great. And if you are interested this is an affordable option to try the line for only $12.99.
As I always say, it is not a PARTY until the OMGBooth is there. Of course I took plenty of OMG photobooth ops!
*P.S. So this event was really interesting, I actually got my phone stolen at this event. Although it looks like I had a great time {and I did} I was very frantic looking for my phone for 2 hours straight to no avail. I had to go to NYC for an emergency flight due to family crisis, so although I look very happy I was not. But that didn’t stop the event from being happy, it just showed me that I still have to function and get the shots and the experience even in not good circumstances. Moral of the story is : People are still stealing phones {especially iphone5} so please lock and have your phone secure always!
Thanks Dr.Miracles + Drexina Nelson for throwing a great event.
The Drexina Nelson Salon is located at 781 Wheeler Street, Studio 12 in Atlanta, Georgia
