{Movie Review} The Sexiest Movie You Will See All Year | Addicted Movie Friday 10 October, 2014
It’s movie review time and this one is strictly for the super grown and sexy! So if you are looking for some mediocre, romantic, light kisses and soft touch movie well this is not the movie for you. Addicted is the erotic novel-turned-movie that will literally get your panties in a bunch while watching it. Sex in movies isn’t a new concept, but when was the last time you saw real raw passion and even a little raunchiness on the big screen? It’s a lot of adrenaline pumping through this film and it’s time to explore what really is going through a woman mind when it pertains to sexual wants and needs.
Movie Trailer
Movie Synopsis: Based on the best-selling novel by Zane, ADDICTED is a sexy and provocative thriller about desire and the dangers of indiscretion. Successful businesswoman Zoe Reynard (Sharon Leal) appears to have attained it all – the dream husband she loves (Boris Kodjoe), two wonderful children and a flourishing career. As perfect as everything appears from the outside, Zoe is still drawn to temptations she cannot escape or resist. As she pursues a secretive life, Zoe finds herself risking it all when she heads down a perilous path she may not survive.Written by Lionsgate
My Opinion: I will tell you immediately this was an amazing film! Across the board this film had me speechless on so many occasions. You want to talk about sex, ok lets talk about sex – which is the big theme of this film. The sex scenes where…yeah just wow! Within the first 5 mins of the film it gets down and dirty, I wasn’t expecting that so soon. I was fortunate to read this book (well back in middle school) and I can honestly say this was a great book-to-movie adaptation. The story line was rich, not watered down and yes very suspenseful. I went through a lot of emotions; from jaw-dropping excitement, laughter, shocked, to even scared! Zoe (the star of the film) is just a women who is not getting her intimate needs met with her husband. I like that it did explore this touchy subject, because in this world it seems like only men have an issue with fulfilling their sexual desires, but the truth is a women can lack needs a well. Of course I wouldn’t suggest cheating as a solution, but of course that is the route she went. She had the perfect storybook life that most people seeking the American Dream desired, but then she scratched an itch – and boy did she scratch it!
I do want to put a disclaimer and say that yes this film is full of sex, but the root of the issue was deeper than sex. The sex became literally an Addiction and she went for professional help for it. I also loved this aspect, because when people think of “addictions” most people dismiss sex as a serious one. The taboo of a successful married women with children with a sex addiction, is not something of the norm but it could happen. It shows you what an addiction can do to your life, from affecting your friendships, love life, work life, and interaction with your children. This movie gets deep
Now when you watch the movie – all women will be so please to see that the full cast of men was nothing short of eye-candy! This girl was one lucky lady, she sure does know how to pick them! Boris Kojoe and Tyson Beckford were of course beautiful men and heartthrobs to many women over the last few decades, but William Levy took the cake for me. William Levy (middle) was the main side dude, and I am sorry to say the entire film I was like I’d cheat on my husband too (that’s not nice I take that back future husband that I don’t even know yet). I didn’t know of William Levy before the film but he was amazing to see in the movie. He is so passionate, and of course the Latin flair and touch of exotic gives him even more sexy points. Sometimes us women do not have enough visual stimulation when it comes to seeing sexy men on the big or little screen, but the casting for this was perfect. But it does teach you, just because someone is the apple of your eye, doesn’t mean you need to eat the forbidden fruit. The tagline for the film states Every Woman Needs An Escape but its not always easy getting away from your addiction it comes with consequences.
#ADDICTEDATL Private Screening
They did have a very private screening here in Atlanta I was able to attend to meet a few of the cast members and the author/director of this film. Most of the movie was filmed here in Atlanta, so it was only fitting for them to have an exclusive here in Atlanta before it hit theaters. Atlanta is a rapidly growing city for entertainment, and I am always happy if I can be apart of the movement within the industry.
This is Zane the author of the original book, Addicted that has been made into this film. Now I know the erotic book industry has been buzzing over the last couple of years because of a certain popular book, but I want to say that Zane has been making her books for decades. I was reading her books back in middle school (don’t judge me) and she was very popular for how she vividly spoke about sex. As a women sometimes we are censored with our thoughts that can trickle into our sexual side, but Zane has always given women another perspective on how to spice up their sex life, to where Cosmopolitian magazine would need to call her for assistance! I am very proud that she has finally made her book (which celebrated it’s 13 year anniversary) into a movie and getting mainstream exposure. For year, people didn’t even know what she looked like so she is finally putting a name to a face and I wish her the best!

I think sexual addictions are very real for both woman and men! Unfortunately I know many families damaged by this! I think if it wasn’t such a taboo subject more people would feel better about reaching out for help!
This is my first time hearing of this movie! It looks like it’s a good one!
