One Music Fest 2015 | Recap Friday 18 September, 2015
Over the past weekend, thousands of people flocked to Atlanta to witness the 6th annual ONE Musicfest that took place at Aaron’s Amphitheater in Lakewood on September 12, 2015. Gracing the stage were the talented Ms.Lauryn Hill, The Roots, A$AP Rocky, Wale, Janelle Monae & Wondaland, Raekwon, Ghostface, The Internet, Raury, SZA, Scarface, 8Ball & MJG, Big KRIT and Bun B.
One Musicfest was the only place to see this roster of incredible acts join together for One purpose – which was to witness a wide variety of sounds, from rock to hip-hop, electro, reggae, funk, disco, house, alternative and soul while having your musical senses stimulated. ONE Musicfest‘s main focus was to create a roster of performers that would be enjoyable for multiple generations.
“There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta”, states J Carter, ONEMusicfest Producer. “We have noticed that while there are many pockets of individuals that share taste in the samemusic, rarely do you see them share in this together. ONEMusicfest was created with the idea of ‘music as the universal language’. Over time we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform.”
This is a festival that brought the older school generation to the newer school generation together and everyone in between. You pick and choose which artist resignates with your heart, while discovering new artist on the way. The eclectic feel and free spirit of the vibed out event is amazing. So many people, good energy, great music, all in what you hope for in a great music festival. The vibe could bring back memories of the past or can stir up your present. I love One MusicFest, and happy to have attended for a second year!
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST THAT WAS AT ONE MUSIC FEST? DID YOU GO TO ANY FESTIVALS THIS YEAR?

I was supposed to go to a festival this weekend. I wanted to go to see Elle King here in Ottawa. She was playing at a big festival in Ottawa.
I need to come to Atlanta for this one, my gosh. I would die to hear the old school Lauryn Hill again.
I had never heard of this musicfest so thank you for the recap. Now I know I HAVE to be there next year!
Didi you get a chance to see the Internet perform? I have been loving them lately!
Awesome review and pictures! Looks like a great time! My favorite will always be Lauryn. I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed everyone’s performance because I enjoy all of their music.
Lauren Hill is a LEGEND and I wish I could see her live. Her album was basically played nonstop in my house from 1997 on! LOL
These pics are GREAT!!!! Go Wale and Janelle Monae!!!
This looks like an amazing show! I do consider any of these artists my favorites but because I enjoy their music I know I would have had a great time. I did not go to any festivals this year but it is on my to do list next year!

I’ve been to a few local festivals but nothing like this! I love Lauryn Hill and would have been jamming in the aisles!
I haven’t been to a music festival in a really long time! And even though I don’t know all of these artists, this looks like something that would’ve been really fun to attend!

This looks like such an awesome concert. I love Janelle Monae. And your photos are great!
I love me some Lauryn Hill. Although I am an Atlanta native, I feel like I live under a rock sometimes. I did not know this concert was happening.
you got some great pictures. My favorite festival happens in Maryland every summer and it’s called the Summer Spirit Fest. It’s an all day show and this year Floetry, Anthony Hamilton and Erykah Badu were my favorites from the fest
I love outdoor music festivals. This looks like it would have been a great time.
I’ve always wanted to attend one of the ONE Musicfest events. I love a variety of music and it’s nice to see all your favorite artist in one spot, and maybe make some new favorites.
