YP Event: Max Lager’s Kick-Off Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week Sunday 26 July, 2015
Downtown Atlanta’s highly anticipated Restaurant Week returns for its 13th year Saturday, July 18, through Sunday, July 26, 2015. During this nine-day culinary event, top chefs offer diners signature menus at exceptional prices. Presented by Central Atlanta Progress (CAP), the annual Restaurant Week event gives Atlantans the opportunity to indulge in Downtown’s finest dining hot spots.
Last week was the offical celebration of Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week. Unfortunately I couldn’t experience it live for the week because I went to NYC for a press trip…but before I left I got to attend an event to kick-off the celebration. YP formerly known as Yellow Pages, hosted a great event in downtown Atlanta at this place called Max Lager’s.
Myself and selected bloggers and media influncers were invited to a great mixer night of food and drink hand picked by my blogger friend Erica of EatingwithErica. She is a YP Foodie Ambassador and she helped host this current event for Atlanta Restaurant Week.
THE FOOD
Lots of soul food presented at this place. I had no idea, I never been and I was shocked on the food selections. We got to taste an array of soul food southern dishes and below are the buffet style meals we indulged in.
This fried cheesecake was absolutely my favorite! I never had it before, but sense they have it at Max Lager’s I am going back for this…a lot! It was amazing…and I may or may not have went back for seconds or thirds lol .
The meal was delicious. Definitely gave me a southern homecooked meal vibe. Delicious. I wasn’t expecting this kind of meal coming from a brewery place!
I invited my boyfriend Brandon to this event. Ha…its still very new but I had to let him come out and see how it feel to go to a blogger/media event. He enjoyed the food. There also was a nice nice open bar (hint the drinks in our hand). Lots of fresh brewed crafted beer and cocktails.
Thank you Erica for inviting me to this exclusive press event. I truly enjoyed my first experience at Max Lager’s. YP mission is correct with #MakeEverydayLocal Campaign. Eating at chain spots are cool, but I want to do better supporting the local homegrown restaurants and eateries in my own city. I am always in the downtown ATL area and its a big city to explore and of course find new places to eat! I am glad I was able to discover this gem (not hidden) and I am inspired even more to eat local regularly.
