Me + Editor of Jubliee Magazine Kim Ford. This day I worked 1 of 3 separate events. I definitely didn’t make any me time!

Hey everyone! It’s me Kiwi and I just want to share with you all something. I rarely feel like I have “me”  time anymore. I know it seems like I have a glamourous life, doing red carpets, movie premieres, exclusive events, doing some beauty stuff – but it’s still work! I tell people all the time my “blog life” needs it’s own reality show. Yeah it’s fun to take pictures and capture the event, but I still have to go home, edit the photos, put my notes together, create the blog post, schedule them along with social media amplifications and more! I am also a freelance writer so I have to write for other publications and sometimes I can be overwhelmed. Going to events, out for hours, come home and type up the event and try to go to sleep (sometimes at 4am). So the picture above I will share a little story…this was from only a week ago. Yes it is fun to do carpets and go from event to event but definitely neglected some important tasks…like eating properly between events. Events have food, niblets and at one, because I was in the middle of covering one – by the time I got to the last destination all the food was gone (of course). When I drove home from the last event, I got real light-headed and I developed a hunger headache. I stopped and got some food on the way home and ate it, went to sleep and woke up with a bigger headache. That was a sign from my body that  I was not giving myself the proper “me time” I needed. Overworking myself…

Here is the cool but sometimes downside to that, there is always something going on usually Mon-Sunday! So there are no Saturday + Sundays off in my world…if there is an event or something to cover I must make myself available for it. So…tell me when do I get me time? In my sleep? In the shower?

Everyone deserves me time. I don’t have kids, but that’s ok because I would be one neglectful parent at the moment because I barely can give myself the attention I need. That’s not a good thing. But I do have rules…I do set aside “me time” especially because I don’t have the traditional 9-5. When I do have time to myself here are  a few of my favorite things I like to do:

Now I love making me a good smoothie! Smoothies are my go-to drinks when I have time to actually make it! The older I get the more I am into creating my own juices and smoothie creations. I can’t make any of my smoothies without using yogurt and I was introduced to the Müller® brand for the first time! I was intrigued especially because of their new Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt flavors. So yogurt that taste like ice cream…I had to try it! I found this in the dairy section of Walmart, don’t go in the frozen aisle!

muller-me-moment-yogurt-smoothie-strawberry-cheesecake-pinterest9 I had to get a few of these.   The new Müller® ice cream inspired flavors would be perfect for a great on-the-go snack or breakfast option. I realized that these have less sugar than other yogurts and only 190-210 calories, which makes me feel good about eating dessert first!

I got four Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Vanilla Bean yogurt to make my smoothies. This was my first time tasting this brand and flavor and let me give you my honest opinion…I fell in love! I am not overly gushing, I literally ate one cup within one minute. It really does taste just like creamy vanilla ice cream! You definitely get the ice cream taste without the ice cream guilt! It was amazing I had to stop myself eating these because I had to continue the recipe so I can do this blog! Would of been really embarrassing I ate all four and couldn’t produce this blog because of greed.

This came out so delish!

Real Graham cracker crumbs sprinkled!

This smoothie literally tasted just like Strawberry Cheesecake in a cute mason jar (adorn with a signature paper straw – that’s the blogger thing to do). Cheesecake is my favorite desert and I am happy I was even happy to have a me moment where I can have my cake and drink it too (trademarking this!).  I definitely had a me moment after I made this and was able to relax and watch some YouTube videos in my bed. The Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Vanilla Bean will be a new staple snack in my house!

Moral of this post is that it’s ok to be a little selfie (and take some too every now and then). You have to make “me moments” for yourself or one will go crazy. So whether you are the workaholic, the overworked mom, or the person who just can’t sit still long enough to give yourself a break – MAKE SOME ME MOMENTS regularly!

I am always struggling to find time to myself, or just time we are home between trips. Smoothies are a favorite of mine when I curl up with a good book. I have heard great things about Müller yogurt; I am going to have to pick some up for my smoothies.

  • Sara says:

I have no me time at all – honestly, even now I’m nursing my baby and pecking away at the keyboard. Your life does sound very exciting but I’d be exhausted too – I am glad you manage to take a little break now and then. Your cake smoothie sounds amazing – I love smoothies but I have no idea what I’m doing so I throw everything in and hope for the best!

  • I need to pick me up some Muller ice cream! I am not big on smoothies but this looks sensational! Oh, and it’s a very pretty drink too! Win-win.

  • Jeanine says:

Yum this looks so good! I have been wanting to try adding more smoothies but I generally don’t like any I’ve come across. This though? I could do! It looks fabulous! I think I may give this one a try sometime!

  • Jennifer J says:

This looks amazing and so delicious. Smoothies are great for getting the day started on the right foot. I have heard great things about this Muller yogurt, I need to pick up some up the next time I run to the store.

  • I haven’t had the Müller brand in some time. It’s not sold at the one store I do most of my shopping. However, This looks and sounds AMAZING! I am going to have to try and make it sometime next week! I know it will just be a hit in out house!

  • I hear ya! When the hustle and bustle of life takes over it is a challenge to get some ME time! I am glad you were able to block a time in your schedule to do this. And what fun you really had! That smoothie is delish!

  • rochkirstin says:

It’s nice that you allocate some time in a day or week for yourself only. This is a great rule especially when most working professionals struggle to have a work-life balance. We need to have a “me time” to stay productive and be on focus. Selfie is a good word that fits this treatment. 😀

  • A Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie…omgoodness…I am drooling right now. I love cheesecake and strawberries, so I know I will make this very soon. I also love Chipotle – the burrito bowl is my favorite. I actually think I give myself too much ‘me’ time.

  • Nancy says:

Strawberry cheesecake smoothie – why didn’t I think of this? Seriously our smoothies are so boring in the mornings. I make one every day for my husband and I to wake up slowly (we are not morning people at all). This would be so good! Totally making it when I pick up some ingredients.

  • Yum! Strawberry + cheesecake are one of my favorite flavor combos. Smoothies are my favorite way to “eat” breakfast in the morning! I sure would love a big glass of this ANY time of the day 🙂
