I don’t know if I have said this on the blog before but I will confess again. I am a lipstick hoarder. I can’t stop buying lipstick! I have said this on the blog time and time again, I am probably not your favorite beauty blogger because I am not the everyday #beatface queen. Sorry, I like my natural look from my head literally to my toes. But if I wear anything, its a must I have lipstick. I need color, I dont like naked lips at all. I literally feel naked if my lips aren’t on.
I know my hair is a big statement piece that is the first thing that catches everyone’s eye. So what do you all think is the second thing that is my signature that stands out. My bold lips! Ok true story…I used to be a pink lipstick girl only. It was only when I was forced (well highly recommended) during a fashion show I was apart of that my lips have a bold red. I couldnt stand red, I didnt like dark colors and I was very adamant about my hot pinks and pales pinks. Oh the irony of me loving pink lips – and I hate the color pink on everything else go figure! Once my makeup artist convinced me to rock a bold red, I felt like I have been living under a rock. Why didn’t anyone tell me I looked good in red? Red is actually cute on me? The same year I went curly, I believe is the same year I become lip bold too! I wanted to try different colors and even dark ones (and I always said thats gothic). Now I am going in a frenzy in stores looking for vampy purples, berries and deep reds! Oh how things have changed.
So that inspired me to come up with a cute series for my blog. In honor of the most anticipated movie of the year, 50 Shades of Grey, I am presenting 50 Shades of lips!
#50ShadesofLips will be me basically showing off my lip look book. I have a lot of lip colors and I want share with you all my favorite lip colors and brands and explain why I love it. People are always asking me what shade I am wearing, so here will be a place I can document it on a blog and via social media! I promised myself too that I would be a better beauty blogger to you all – so lips right now are my specialty! I have some real fun colors to share with you all.
NYX soft matte in Monte Carlo
The color I am obsessed with right now and I am rocking in the photo is called Monte Carlo by NYX Cosmetics. NYX cosmetics has to be one of my favorite brands right now. They are so affordable and vibrant will the perfect pigments for puckers! I go this color because I was legit looking for a fun red matte for Valentines Day and volia this was the winner! This is a sexy red that would be perfect for a haute date or just wear it because you wanna be sexy! This matte is soft (some mattes can be pretty harsh) and it make me feel like I didn’t even apply any. Best part, this color was only $5.99? Yup NYX is so afforable, I almost felt bad it was that cheap (not too bad so I could buy more and I did). I bought mine at a local beauty supply store.

I’ve been toying with the idea of seeing the movie 50 Shades of Grey. I read the first book and couldn’t get pass the 2nd one. So I am on the fence if I really want to pay to see the movie. Maybe I’ll just wait until it comes on DVD and rent it form the library. This way if I don’t like it I won’t feel like I wasted my money.

I wear lip glosses more than lipstick, only because I play up my eyes a lot and I fear a lipstick would be overkill for my face. You look great with your lipsticks though! Great shades!

I was recently at an event with a friend who is a makeup blogger, and she was telling me that everyone can rock a strong red lip. I’ve never tried it, but this color makes me want to!
I started using NYX products last year and I love them. I think they are fantastic quality for the price. I’ve never tried this one but it looks so nice on you that I may give it a try. My favorite lipcolor is currently MAC Heroine.
