It’s 2020 and Ghosting is a very popular buzzword these days. The Invisible Man is a thriller film written and directed by Leigh Whannell. Its actually a re-imagined adaptation of both the novel & film (1933) of the same name by H. G. Wells. I never seen the original but I do see how this invisible man will different in a new modern way.

I am all for ghost and ghost like movies such as Hollow Man, Ghost, Ghost Dad, etc…so this new The Invisible Man intrigued men. Check out the trailer and see how ghosting is taken to the next level!

Synopsis: Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy and brilliant scientist (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss) escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding, aided by her sister (Harriet Dyer), their childhood friend (Aldis Hodge) and his teenage daughter (Storm Reid).
My review: I love thrillers and this one did not disappoint. Elizabeth Moss really knows how to play a character with deep emotional range (Handsmaid Tale, US) and the thriller industry looks like a good home for her to thrive in. The concept of this film is so wild, how her character is a widow who’s affluent husband is still haunting her, literally. If he is dead how can he do it? The way he becomes invisible is pretty interesting, as in 2020 you will still go to the nuthouse for even telling someone that a deceased person is taunting you. So she is fighting for her life and her sanity trying to prove she isn’t crazy and her ex-husband is out to get her.
It’s also a movie about obsession and possession – seems like the opposite of what someone who would “ghost” you do huh? This type of ghosting actually only disappears with sights but is always around. Nope, if you’re going to ghost me, please stay gone. Thats the part of this movie that just freaked me out. He was haunting her to keep him in his possession. He is rich, but it is true – money can’t buy you love. I also loved that the co-stars were African American played by Adis Hodge and Storm Reid. I love they were genuine family friends to her and to see that inclusivity and breaking traditional on-screen monolith platonic friendship concept was great! I also loved Adis was a single father raising an African American teen girl. You don’t see that in the media enough so another role birth for representation of these relationships.
I thought it was a great movie, it was a thriller with a little blood but not too much to deem it a scary movie. The movie wasn’t predictable and enough plots and twist to keep you excited.
On Tuesday, February 18th, Storm Reid hosted a special screening of THE INVISIBLE MAN at AMC Phipps Plaza. Host of HOT 107.1’s, Headkrack introduced Storm and hyped up the crowd!
Storm did so amazing in this film. I actually met her for the first time 2 years ago for her first feature starring film, Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time. She has grown so much since then and expanded her resume to When They See Us, Don’t Let Go and hit show Euphoria. She is only sixteen years old but a powerful actress already. All of her roles are either tapping into a more serious side or it is fiddle the lines of technology and reality.
It was great to see her in Atlanta popping up at the screening, as she an ATL native and she is just as graceful as can be.

Aaaahhhhh…I have seen this trailer of it somewhere and I liked it. I wanna watch it soon enough.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this. I think the Invisible Man really lends itself well to a super suspenseful horror movie, and even the trailer looked pretty darn tense.
Thrillers always keep my eyes glued to the screen and the way you describe that it wasn’t predictable has me interested, for sure.
Sure sounds like a thrilling movie. I will have to make a date with my husband. Both of us have been couped up in this house for the long time.

I have never watched this movie, but I can appreciate a good thriller suspense flick. To be honest, I never heard of this movie before so it is kind of good to know it exists.
