A Quiet Place Will Have You Shhhaken Up in This New Sci-Fi Thriller Movie! Friday 06 April, 2018
Jim from the office is that you??? Yes that is Jim, sorry actor John Krasinski who happened to be the director and star of this film as well! Also another cool fact about this movie, not only did he direct and star in this film, he is co-starred alongside with Emily Blunt – his real life wife! Wow that is major I am proud of them! A Quiet Place was actually a different type of sci-fi thriller film. The title of the movie stays true to the theme, it is quiet, too quiet for a thriller. It is almost considered a silent film (in 2018?) but it actually has 90 lines spoken in this movie.
Now I know what you are thinking. 90 lines spoken??? Why is it so quiet? What kind of film do you watch where the characters cant even talk? Well this is a sci-fi, so this is set in a post apocalyptic place in the wood. It’s definitely not your typical cabin in the wood horror stereotype, this family is going through it…silently. Silence is survival.
You ever been to a thriller, scary movie and you just wanted everyone in the movies to STFU…this is that movie. On purpose! Silence is golden takes a whole new meaning!

My Thoughts: This movie gets high recommendations for me. This movie will make you jump, freak out, want to scream (but wont because you start to psychologically feel like you are in the movie) and yes even cry. I cried in this movie hard! Everyone’s acting was done so well in this movie. At first I was a little upset because it was such little talking. It took some getting used to but this is what made the movie fun. I am so used to seeing John Krasinski in funny roles so it was great to see him as such a serious and strong character. Emily Blunt, who I knew I recoginzed from one of my favorite movies (The Devil Wears Prada), also shocked me with her chilling role. She will be switching it up at the end of this year for Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, as Mary! Her character shocked me so much here, as a mom – it just shows you the true strength of a woman thats all I have to say! So many emotions but if you like scary thrillers like I do, this is your movie. Be prepared to sit back, not relax and go to a quiet place in the movie theater!

Wow John Krasinski really has broadened his scope in this one. I really want to see it. I generally like dramas and chic flicks but a thriller like this seems like it is worth a try.

This looks like a real must watch movie. It would make me scream my lungs out! I love a good horror film and this Quiet Place looks like I need to get clearance from my cardiologist first! Haha.

I’m not much of a thriller fan because they seem too predictable. I thought this would be another creepy ghost movie, but it seems interesting.
