AmaZing™ & Refreshing with Zing™ | Fresh Mint Strawberry Lemonade Recipe Friday 04 September, 2015
What perks you up? Many people need coffee first thing in the morning. I’ve told you all before, I am not the biggest coffee drinker (ice lattes are more of my thing). I guess I am not the “standard” American who just has to have that cup of joe in the am. I am not sure if you all know but I am pretty into learning new and holistic ways to eat, drink and heal myself better just for better health benefits. What surprisingly perks me up are lemons!
Yes lemons are like my go-to fruit now! I bought this citrus pressing machine and I literally have been juicing my own lemons every day. There are so many health benefits to lemons such as fights cancer cells, improves one’s digestive system, lowers high blood pressure, balance pH levels, increases metabolism and promotes weight loss and more! The sour and tartness of the fruit really perks me up and I have been figuring out many ways to ingest lemons.
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade right? Yes of course, that’s the standard thing to do with them especially in the hotter months. Lemonade need lots of sugar right? That’s something I have been battling with too much granulated sugar is of course not good for you…but t The perfect batch of lemonade needs something sweet. a good portion of it. Well I have been using a new product Born Sweet® Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener as my sugar alternative.
Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener is perfect for my lemonade mixes because it provides a sweet taste without a funny aftertaste, and zero calories! You can also sprinkle it into your coffee, teas, smoothies, over fruit and other favorite foods and beverages. Below is an enhanced version of lemonade made with mint, strawberries and added Zing™ Stevia Sweetener. I think it’s pretty amaZING (pun indeed).
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup of strawberries
- 1 cups fresh lemon juice
- 3 packets of Zing™ Stevia Sweetener
- 2 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
- Ice cubes
- Combine Zing™ Stevia Sweetener and 1 cup water in a glass bowl. Stir until the Zing™ has fully dissolved. This will be the Zing™ syrup.
- Juice the lemons. Muddle together lemon juice, strawberries and chopped mint leaves, using a muddler or alternatively the base of a wooden spoon to infuse the juice and mint flavor.
- 3. Place lemon juice in pitcher with Zing™ syrup, and 2 cups water. Stir mixture.
- Garnish with whole mint leaves, strawberries and pour over ice.
Lemonade never tasted sweeter!
