Walt Disney Studios has released a new clip of the upcoming movie “Safety”, which is a Disney+ original debuting on Friday 11th December. It is based on a true story of a brotherly love that is selfless and goes way beyond your traditional sports drama film.

ABOUT SAFETY ON DISNEY PLUS
“Safety” is a drama inspired by the empowering story of former Clemson University football safety Ray McElrathbey (Jay Reeves), a young man facing a series of challenging circumstances, whose dedication and persistence help him to triumph over repeated adversities. Aided by his teammates and the Clemson community, he succeeds on the field while simultaneously raising and caring for his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr (Thaddeus J. Mixson).
The supporting cast includes Corinne Foxx, Matthew Glave, Hunter Sansone, Amanda Warren, Miles Burris, Isaac Bell, Elijah Bell and James Badge Dale.
This movie is definitely heartwarming and tugs at your spirit. I will be honest I didnt know of this true story prior to seeing the film, but it is an amazing adaptation of Ray McElrathbey story. Ray McElrathbey, a former Clemson football player who took custody of his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr McElrathbey, while a freshman back in 2006.
Disney+ turned his story into this film. SAFETY, about the selfless of a 19 year old who had football dreams but family ties that will always be deeper than sports. He did what looked like it was impossible to go to college, have his college football career and raise a pre-teen brother. That alone is emotional and watching this film truly strengthen the true meaning of family.

This is a great holiday film and a great movie that is memorable with a touching ending. Ray McElrathbey, 34, and thriving and was honored that his story was reinacted for Disney+. I will be doing a follow-up post on interviewing with the actors of this film and Ray McElrathbey himself!
