Cirque Du Soleil Brings ‘VOLTA’ Show To Atlanta | Atlantic Station Tuesday 15 October, 2019
I am excited to share I got to experience my first Cirque Du Soleil showcase with VOLTA in Atlanta. I have wanted attend this beautiful showcase for a long time now, and very happy to share my 1st viewing of this. Cirque Du Soleil if you don’t know is not your average circus. Its an international and universal circus-like experience that brings art over animals for entertainment and to tell a story!
Founded in Quebec, Canada, Cirque du Soleil is one of the biggest and most successful theater productions in the world. They’ve been entertaining audiences since 1984 & its 18th show presented under the Big Top. The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world.
VOLTA STORY
VOLTA is a captivating voyage of discovery. It’s about finding yourself, and unveiling your personal powers. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of street sports, the show weaves acrobatics in a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score.
WAZ, is a gameshow contestant that has lost touch with himself. He’s ashamed of who he is because of his difference. He enters the show in search of fame, thinking that this will bring him love and acceptance from others. What he finds is something else. That fame is not the answer. If fame doesn’t provide freedom and acceptance, then what does? Will WAZ reconnect with his true self – and stand up for all that makes him truly unique? Will he realize that his difference is what makes him extraordinary?
THEMES AND INSPIRATIONS
Street sports and the spirit of adventure– The creators of VOLTA drew inspiration from the spirit of adventure that pervades the world of street sports and acrobatics. Whether they are on a bike, hopping from rooftop
to rooftop, or double dutch rope skipping, urban sports enthusiasts constantly challenge themselves and defy convention.
Authenticity as an antidote to superficiality – VOLTA explores the themes of celebrating differences and unique qualities in a world where technology of ten isolates people from one another rather than freeing them. Using the rise of the celebrity culture and reality TV as a subtext, VOLTA teaches us that the path to fame, is not necessarily the path to freedom.
The MR. WOW SHOW – This is the show of all shows. The one that can catapult you from being a nobody to being a real somebody. MR. WOW, the chief judge, holds the power to make you or to break you. You never know which way he will vote.
VOLTA is a story of transformation. It is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s true potential, and recognizing one’s own power to make it possible. Ultimate freedom comes with self-acceptance, and with the liberation of the judgement of others.

I have been wanting to go to cirque du soleil for so long. I’ve heard great things about their shows. I hope to go one day. This show sounds great as well.
I have not watched a Cirque Du Soleil show live. This must be so magical. I love the theme for their show this time. I wish they’d perform somewhere close to where I live!
I am overdue for a Cirque du Soleil show. I had tickets last year but had to give them away last minute. They always put their all into the show. Their costumes really bring the story to life.

We saw a Circue du Soleil show many years ago when they did a Beatles show. It was so amazing! I would see them over and over. They just need to come closer to home.

think they were in Florida last year. Not sure, but I’ve always enjoyed Cirque du Soleil.
