CORTEO, Cirque du Soleil’s mesmerizing arena show, returns to North America and is set to enchant audiences in Duluth this August. Directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, this extraordinary production premiered in Montreal in April 2005 and has amazed over 10 million spectators in 20 countries across four continents. Catch CORTEO at the Gas South Arena for six exclusive shows from August 15-18, 2024.
Corteo, translating to “cortege” in Italian, embodies a jubilant procession – a celebratory parade envisioned by a clown. This performance combines the actor’s passion with the acrobat’s grace and strength, immersing the audience in a theatrical realm of amusement, humor, and impromptu moments, all set in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.
For the first time in Cirque du Soleil history, the stage takes center place in the arena, dividing the venue so that each half of the audience faces the other, offering a distinctive perspective not only of the show, but also a performer’s view of the audience.
This creates an atmosphere unlike anything seen before in Cirque du Soleil arena productions. The set curtains, drawing inspiration from the Eiffel Tower, along with the hand-painted central curtains, contribute to a grand ambiance, setting the stage for the poetic essence of CORTEO.
