{Event Recap} Demetria Lucas is a Belle in ATL Monday 31 March, 2014
Bravo’s newest reality series, Blood Sweat & Heels, starlet Demetria Lucas had an amazing season finale celebration here in Atlanta. I was super excited because for one, I think Demetria rocks, and two I pretty much have been praying for her to make a pitstop down here so angels heard my calls. Demetria Lucas, before her stardom on BSH, was a top blogger and author of A Belle in Brooklyn which generated buzz and recognition that dubbed her The Black Carrie Bradshaw. I watched her on the show, and myself and other bloggers can agree we appreciate her presence on the small screen and very inspired by her tenacity of her brand. When Demetria hosted her event at barOne she went from a Belle in Brooklyn to instantly A Belle in Atlanta. She had an uber cute event that was sponsored by Skyy Vodka with a very peachy chic theme of elegance and pretty!
So I have a confession. I actually didn’t get a chance to indulge in the open bar that Skyy Vodka has provided because I am currently on Lent. If you don’t know what lent is, it’s basically an annual religious practice that happens 40 days before Easter for a personal sacrifice of something you enjoy in reflection of the holiday…so I gave up alcohol. So this pretty drink is just Peach juice ok? But from what I heard, the Skyy Peach Vodka was amazing!
Now please let me share some tidbit’s about the decor! OMG it was so pretty! It was definitely jazzed up to match the Skyy Peach Vodka and Atlanta Georgia Peach theme. The event themed decor was a bookshelf chic garden that blossomed and showcase Demetria’s book as well as showed homage to the show and the peach state. My favorite part of the bookshelf decorations was the peach pumps – you know to represent the heel of Blood, Sweat & Heels. Too Cute!
I couldn’t get enough of the pretty peach decor. A indoor nighttime garden party that also gave springtime sophistication. Very well displayed!
Miss Demetria Lucas was the Belle of the Ball (yes pun intended). Once again I loved that Demetria came to Atlanta to celebrate her season finale with some Georgia Peaches. She is known for on the show as a strong-minded, opinionated and articulate young lady who has made herself an entrepreneur with her brand. Demetria has been blogging and writing for years, so to see her success manifest and be amplified through a reality show is great. Yes the show has it’s share of drama, but by no means did she allow it to diminish her integrity or personality for extra air time. She gives a blogger like me hope that I can also expand my brand and get mass recognition (without selling out). She was also very kind and down-to-earth in person, so it’s awesome to know she is remaining humble throughout her success.
But First Let Me Take A Selfie
Another Bravo reality starlet, Africa Miranda (The New Atlanta), stopped by the party to show some love and support since both of their shows are on the same network. They look like great friends, but of course they had to take a selfie for the Gram (Instagram).
This was a great event with an awesome and pretty atmosphere. Once again, watching Demetria on television and in person is an extra motivation that blogger can do bigger this with persistence, determination and consistency. Although I am not necessary trying to go down the reality show route for success, if they pitched Blood Sweat Heel the Atlanta edition, I may not say no…you never know! Moral of the story I am inspired and I love that my fellow blogger peer is doing big things, which can give an addition boost to anyone that your dreams are not as far away as you think! Hopefully Blood, Sweat & Heels will be picked up for Season 2!
