Event Recap | Susan G Komen 80s Bash + Bubbles & Bling Friday 05 February, 2016
I am happy to recap the Susan G. Komen (Komen Atlanta) 3rd annual 80s-Themed ‘Bubbles & Bling’ Party-With-A-Purpose as they aim to raise $225,000. Bubbles & Bling is Komen Atlanta’s signature fundraising cocktail party, and this year it was a total 80’s bash!Usually October is the month to recognize breast cancer and bring awareness by wearing pink, but the Bubbles & Bling Party takes it up a notch by having a huge city party with the towns movers & shakers, influencers and charitable donators to celebrate and raise money!
In My Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Get Up!
This is my second Bubbles and Bling Party and I have to tell you all I had a super ball (literally you will find out soon). I love a good 80s party! Susan G. Komen Bubbles and Bling Parties are always around my birthday. So what perfect party theme to pre-celebrate my birthday 80s style than an 80s bash! I am a 80s baby so super perfect for me! I went all out with the side pony and blue eyeshadow and bright colors! The 80s were so fun I wish I was an adult in that era to really live it!
Michael Jackson had to make an appearance!
I was greeted by Michael Jackson when I entered the party! Michael did a big performance and throughout the night he danced amongst the attendees! You can’t have an 80s anything without The King of Pop!
Bubble Ball Pit!
Here I am with my friend Nina, who was my plus one for the event as she was with me the 1st year here, and my blogger friend Dea (Pretty Girls Rock Dresses). I couldnt wait to get into the Bubble Ball Pit! Some people were scared to get in…not this big kid! I was so excited to take my shoes off and dive in. Nina and I even dove backwards into the pit!

The food set up was amazing! There were a few food stations that went with the 80s theme! We had a I Love Rock & Roll Tacos, Kung Fu Fighting TakeOut Station (my favorite) yes with real takeout boxes…super fun, and a Twinkie Bar! The creativity they put into the details of the food was amazing! I loved this concept!
80 BASHERS
Nina + I meet 80s Dolly Parton she was fun!
Everyone particpated in this year’s event. The first year was a bit formal, but I think people really got into the theme and went all out 80s style. So whether they went pop-style, rock and roll, mullet hair (lots of mullets), 80s celeb, hip-hop, and even video game theme it was a super good time! Great times and of course all for a good cause.
Im back in the Bubble Pit
Again this wasn’t just a Party, but a Party-With-A-Purpose. Over the past two years, Bubbles and Bling has raised about $350,000 for Komen Atlanta. This party is hosted to strengthen Komen Atlanta’s mission toenable the community to detect and survive breast cancer while raising the funds to go to the cause to help. Seventy-five percent of funds raised will stay in metro Atlanta to provide breast health services for people who might not otherwise be able to afford them, fulfilling the foundation’s mission. The other 25 percent of the funds raised support global research efforts to find cures for breast cancer. After the event, Komen Atlanta Bubble’s & Bling party managed to raise $215K during the event and the number is still growing towards the $225k they were aiming for. I would say that is a success! I can’t wait to party with them again next year!
