Hey guys! I am finally back with another car review. I got an opportunity to collaborate with Ford Southeast Region here in Atlanta to test drive the new 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible! I know right how super sporty of me! I was super excited as you can tell because I never in my life drove a convertible before so you know I took full advantage of this while I cruised around Atlanta.

Just call me Mustang Kiwi as I drove around this beauty for a week. This Ford Mustang is bright ride and fast but smooth! I felt like a superstar as a rode down the streets of Atlanta with my curls blowing in the wind, so liberating. This is definitely a car for the young at heart and fun seeker. I really think many people aren’t used to seeing women drive such a sporty muscle car such as this Mustang, because I got so many looks and stares from men in particular…but thats ok. Sometimes you have to show men you can put your own weight and ride in style with the top down too. I guess it shows I take charge and fearless when you ride a car like this. I loved every minute of it.

I want to share with you all a cool collaboration that Ford has partnered with the famous tequila brand, Jose Cuervo. Jose Cuervo’s is developing a broader sustainability plan, to which the tequila maker is joining forces with the automaker to develop a new way to use its remnant fibers.

“Jose Cuervo is proud to be working with Ford to further develop our agave sustainability plan,” said Sonia Espinola, director of heritage for CuervoFoundation and master tequilera. “As the world’s No. 1-selling tequila, we could never have imagined the hundreds of agave plants we were cultivating as a small family business would eventually multiply to millions. This collaboration brings two great companies together to develop innovative, earth-conscious materials.”

Like Ford Motor Company, Jose Cuervo is family-owned and operated. Founded in 1795, it has been making tequila for more than 220 years with the same experience, craftsmanship and recipes that have been handed down generation through generation.

So how will this work? The collaboration with Ford Motor Company and Jose Cuervo® are exploring the innovative usage of agave plants to develop a sustainable bioplastic material to incorporate in vehicles, giving the agave fiber byproduct a second chance at usefulness.  Success in developing the sustainable composite could reduce the weight of car parts, helping to improve fuel economy; the new material could alleviate the use of petrochemicals, decreasing the overall impact of vehicles on the environment.

Today, the automaker currently uses eight sustainable-based materials in its vehicles including soy foam, castor oil, wheat straw, kenaf fiber, cellulose, wood, coconut fiber and rice hulls. So moving forward, what cool about the Ford sustainable materials of the agave waste is that these materials are being researched and used in every Ford model. So your next Ford car could have byproducts that were derived from an agave plant! Isn’t that amazing? Agave-Still-1

This is an amazing partnership a first of is kind and I can’t wait to hear of the positive impact the agave plant will having on upcoming Ford vehicles. This was a genius collaboration Ford and Jose Cuervo had to bind together for an amazing advancement in technology and the economy. Im sure both of the brands still want you to know Dont Drink and Drive Ever.

I truly enjoyed riding around in the 2017 Mustang…aka Mustang Kiwi. Ford has some of the most stylist and most cost effective brands when it comes to an economical vehicle but now I will know they are also looking into reducing impact on the environment in a more green-friendly way when they manufacture their cars. So like their tag line, this innovation is definitely plans to Go Further.
