GOOD BOYS MOVIE | HILARIOUS FILM ABOUT TWEEN BOYS AND QUESTIONABLE TOYS Thursday 15 August, 2019
I want to share an interesting movie review that might make you think of Good Boys different. Its not some cutest movie about pre-teen boys and their growing friendship. It was an interactive movie screening experience hosted by Xilla called #XillaMovieParty in which was an interactive night to watch the movie & an after party.
TRAILER
Synopsis: Invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max asks his best friends Lucas and Thor for some much-needed help on how to pucker up. When they hit a dead end, Max decides to use his father’s drone to spy on the teenage girls next door. When the boys lose the drone, they skip school and hatch a plan to retrieve it before Max’s dad can figure out what happened.
My thoughts: Wow this movie and its title is definitely the opposite of what to expect. These little boys go on a little naughty adventure and its really funny! Let me first say, dont let the title and the actors age fool you, this film is Rated R and is NOT a children’s movie!
We all know little boys are nasty, smelly and go through an akward phase before they reach their teen years. This is like the Sandlot but a vulgar version. These boys are playing with toys, but not kiddie toys! Yes these cute little trio of friends find their hands on adult sex toys to go on this adventure. Don’t worry, the sex toys are used in the typical way they were intended for but thats what makes it funny! If Toy Story, Chucky can come out this year and do left field things in the toy department – well why not add pre-teens and sex toys to make it more awkward!
I will basically say this movie is Super Bad, The Little Rascals and Southpark came together and had a baby and this movie was born! I highly recommend this movie if you have a great sense of humor, but just know this is from the same makers as Sausage Party, so just know they know how to take something innocently like and somewhat corrupt it. Even though there are vulgar parts in this movie, they never crossed the line too much where it gets uncomfortable and the kids are still just innocent kids throughout the film.
XILLA MOVIE PARTY
Xilla is a vet blogger. I was reading his original blogs in college where they were more personal and more about modern love and his musings around it. He actually has a really great way with word, so its great to see his craft grow into the entertainment world like myself. He is now based in Atlanta, where he host exclusive movie parties from time to time and make them interactive! So after the screening of Good Boys, there was a speakeasy VIP lounge party. Good Boys looks like a great movie. I love the premise, and the moment I saw the commercial of Seth Rogan telling the boys they were too young to see their own movie, I knew it was going to be great.
I think I have seen like ONE poster for this movie! Not much advertising had been done but if you say it’s hilarious then I feel as though I need to see it because I am all about HILARIOUS!
Superbad is one of my favorite comedies so I would expect this to be in the same vein. I don’t mind raunchy movies as long as the raunchiness serves the story.
