Guess What? Im A Sheen Magazine Contributor! Saturday 29 June, 2013
So guess who is the new Sheen Magazine contributor? Of course you guess me…it’s in my blog title (dead giveaway). I am so excited that I have my 1st magazine article published in a national magazine. This is really a blessing!
I have always had a slight obsession with magazine, like a serious hoarding obsession. I would always buy magazines each time I go to the grocery store (I never got a subscription because it’s the joy of actually seeing it in the store and picking it up was my thrill). I have always been a huge fan of reading in general, so interesting articles on gossip, fashion, and other things has been a small part on how I got inspired to be a blogger.
I even tried to make contributions to magazines as young a 9 years old. Yes I was 9 trying to submit artwork and articles to Nickelodeon Magazine (yes I am telling my age a bit- thats a bit dated). Nickelodeon Magazine at the time was the Cosmopoltian for pre-teens and children and it broke my little heart when they didn’t pick up my material. Who knew that almost two decades later my material would be featured in a real magazine?

Sheen Magazine is considered The Ultimate Beauty Guide for the modern day woman. The magazine is published bi-monthly in which always remaining current on what is happening and what is to come with beauty, fashion, hair, and entertainment.

Sheen Magazine held their bi-monthly magazine launch party at the new gourmet popcorn shoppe It’s Poppin! (Cake Cafe Atlanta) in Buckhead. They have over 300+ custom created popcorn and other savory treats.

It’s Poppin serves more than popcorn, they also make handmade cotton candy at the shoppe.
I am truly happy to be working with such an awesome magazine. This magazine is so me and I am extremely excited to have this opportunity. This was on my vision board as well so guys that makes two vision board manifestations within a month of creation. Make that vision board!
I got to interview the lovely Crytal Nicole, famous songwriter turned singer for a fun Q&A session for the mag.
Who is Crystal Nicole?
Who is Crystal Nicole? If you don’t recognize her face, I know you recognize her music. Let me give you a little break down of the songs she has done just in case you didn’t know.
Mariah Carey (“Touch My Body”, “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time”, “Angels Cry”
Rihanna (Only Girl in the World)
Beyonce (Scared of Lonely)
Monica (Love All Over Me)

And that is just a few songs! She has been working behind the scenes for quite sometimes, with Jermanie Dupri discovering her writing talents. But behind the pen, there is a songbird waiting to get out and shine bright like a diamond on her own. She is under 30 with an amazing resume and multi-talented gifts to be shared with the world. She shared with me how creating Rhianna’s “Only Girl In the World” was inspired by the instrumentals reminding her of a dramatic sci-fi movie. She also opened up to me that writing the lyrics for Monica’s “Love All Over Me” was in dedication to her own lovestory with her husband, and shortly after the track was produced, Monica was wed to Shannon Brown in the same year.
Her musical gifts are amazing but it is definitely her time to shine. The humble songtress has her own album slated for debut August 2013. Check out more about Crystal Nicole in the new issue of Sheen Magazine pg.45.
