Keanu Movie Review |Key and Peele Atlanta Screening Monday 18 April, 2016
You know what I love about Atlanta? The movie screenings, and the new upcoming comedy Keanu ATL had a special treat with the stars of the film coming into town to promote the movie Key and Peele. This comedic duo who got their start in one of my favorite past shows, MadTV, Key and Peele who have their own show has translated their well overdue talented to the big screen about Keanu – the cat! Yes a cat! Tell you more about my opinion below with the synopsis!

Synopsis:Recently dumped by his girlfriend, slacker Rell (Jordan Peele) finds some happiness when a cute kitten winds up on his doorstep. After a heartless thief steals the cat, Rell recruits his cousin Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) to help him retrieve it. They soon learn that a thug named Cheddar (Method Man) has the animal, and he’ll only give it back if the two men agree to work for him. Armed with guns and a gangster attitude, it doesn’t take long for the hapless duo to land in big trouble.
My Opinion:I hope you are a fan of Key and Peele comedy because it’s filled through this film. Key and Peele’s type of comedy is very slaptick but its that off guard schoolyard giddy kind of comedy that I actually like. Some of the comedy’s out now are almost either too forced or not even really ha ha funny anymore. So only these two can turn some hardcord action type film into a satire comedy about a cat. Yes a kitten at that named Keanu. The entire movie was about them saving a stolen beloved cat and going on a mission to retrieve it from gangsta Cheddar (played by Method Man). The entire movie I am like they are doing all of this for a cat? A freaking cat?
And that’s why it was so funny for me…sometimes we need a parody of these predictable action/drug/gangsta movies.They are all the same in my opinion but breaking it up with comedy that is the opposite of hardcore…which is a cute little kitten is pretty genius to me. I was laughing the majority of the movie. Its super silly – but again its a comedy! Don’t take it too seriously…be prepared to laugh or have a stick up your butt if this isn’t your type of humor.

Cast members Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, Method Man and Jason Mitchell were in Atlanta to hand to thank the city for their support of their first feature film and extremely funny comedy.
Atlanta’s own “King of the South” T.I. hosted a special VIP screening of the new film KEANUat Regal Cinemas Atlantic Station. Hundreds packed the theater for a chance to preview the highly-anticipated comedy. If you look closely that me on the second row 🙂

I didn’t get a chance to go to the after party, I am really sad about it because I didnt get a chance to take a photo op with the cast – especially regretful of not getting next to Method Man. Man Method Man is super sexy and just still fine. Like what is up with men from the 90s not aging? I’m not complaining still swooning…ok I am snapping out of it!
Keanu is a movie I highly recommend if you are looking to seriously get your laugh on. Come on and see the movie about rescuing a cute kitty! Keanu is cute…the movie is hilarious – Key and Peele have serious problems coming up with a film like this, but I like it!

Um, LMAO! I can’t even with these two. I’m soooooo out of the loop with U.S. movies, can’t wait to get back to the A and get caught up on movies and everything else (I see Scales tagged, glad to see they’re still around!)
I saw the trailer for this movie the other day while I was at the gym. I actually laughed out loud while running on the treadmill. I think this look very funny!
I didn’t think I was going to like the movie, but it was pretty funny. Even though the event had a late start I’m glad we were able to get pics and still enjoy the movie!
I’ve watched Key and Peele’s show and they’re hilarious. Still, I don’t think I can get down with this cat movie…lol. I’ll wait for it On Demand. But it looks like you had fun at the screening!

Key & Peele are crazy!! I didn’t know they had a movie coming out. My husband loves them, so I suppose I’ll be going to see that. Lol!

It is on and popping in ATL. It has become little Hollywood, I wish DC would relax a bit so we could be more Hollywood friendly.
I saw the previews for this when I saw The Perfect Match it was hilarious. Pus I’m a Key & Peele fan already.
