Keurig 2.0 k550

I love my new Keurig! I never thought I would even get one, because I am not a coffee drinker. I was sent a new Keurig 2.0 k550 model for review…just in time for the holidays. It’s very tech savvy and I am impressed. I know I am not a coffee drinker, but these can make tea and even hot chocolate (which I will be brewing a lot). It even dispense hot water for other needs so no need to boil water on the stove for other usages.I even want to make my own recipes (I’ve been looking on Pinterest) so I can even jazz up coffee flavors for an extra flair. I am thinking of giving this to my mom she is a bigger coffee drinker than me.

These are the famous K-Cup that come in various brands and flavors!

The K-Carafe cups that are double the size of the regular K-Cups.

I will admit I had K-cup envy. I would go to the store and see these K-cup and long to be able to use these one day. I mean they have so many brands to choose from in these little coffee cup pods from many of your favorite coffee brands; Folgers, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts, Green Mountain Coffee, and yes even my beloved Starbucks! One of my most anticipate favorite things about this K-Cup is that it’s not limited to coffee, but expanded to teas, hot chocolate and even lemonade! That excited me so much, because again…I am not the biggest coffee fan but I am happy there are other alternatives.

Using the K-Carafe Cup from The Donut Shop Coffee

The Keurig 2.0 expands within the cup holder to fit a regular K-Cup and the new larger K-Carafe cups as well.

The Keurig 2.0 k550 model water filter lights up in blue lights! #Fancy

So I actually ran out of the small K-Cups to demonstrate for the blog how I use my Keurig 2.0. Thats ok, even though the Keurig is known for the single serve cups of coffee, the new model has a feature and cups that allows you to make bigger batches. Now one is able to brew more in the larger version of the K-cup, K-Carafe packs, that makes coffee up to 32 oz  in about 2 minutes in a Carafe pitcher. Like I said this is my first Keurig, so from what I was told the older models aren’t able to do this. The Carafe is specifically designed to fit the Keurig 2.0 models and also technologically enhanced to dispense with this coffeemaker.

keurig-k550-cawfeetawk-coffee-maker-kiwi-the-beauty-7 The Keurig lights up whenever a K-Cup or K-Carafe cup is inserted in the machine. It’s very digitally enhanced and when using the Carafe you can even choose how many cups you want to dispense (1-2, 2-3, 3-4 cups) with the touch of a button. Everything is basically one button and brew! Love it – so smart and easy to use!

Time to pour some coffee!

It’s complete but not without me adding some flavored creamer!

Overall the Keurig is an amazing device for any kitchen and coffee lover. Once again, I stress to you all that I am NOT the biggest coffee drink (fraps are a different story), but I actually enjoyed my brew! I just had fun operating the entire coffeemaker (what can I say I love tech stuff and things that light up) so it make me want to drink more coffee for fun! More than likely though I am going to just gift this for my mom and let her have it – she used it and likes it as well. I will buy myself another one in the future.

#Cawfeetawk coffee mug not included (sorry got it at an event). Eyebrows not on fleek either…

I went to a Keurig event in Atlanta a few weeks ago and experienced using this coffeemaker for the first time. Now that I have it at home I am excited for all of the possibilities I can use for this innovative and modern coffeemaker. Maybe I do need to drink more coffee, I am always up writing anyways and in 2015 I plan on taking my blog into overdrive and probably will need the extra liquid assistance in the future. For now, I am running out of K-Cups and want to try some hot coco with whipped cream and snuggle up to a good book (yes I am a real bookworm I am not trying to sound cute).

Lets have some #Cawfeetawk. Do you own a Keurig or want one? What are you looking forward to this most this holiday season?

Keurigs are great! Being able to drink tea, hot chocolate, or even just use the hot water, makes them the perfect item to have in the kitchen!

  • Pam says:

I have a Keurig and I love it. Being able to make a single cup whenever I want it is great.

  • Liz Mays says:

I love using my Keurig. I use it on everything from tea and coffee to hot water for oatmeal.

  • Christie says:

I love my new Keurig! The big carafe is so nice for company!

  • Debbie Denny says:

You are a lucky one. I love mine.

  • Nina Say says:

I used to own a Keurig, I loved it for the specialty drinks. Unfortunately I tend to drink a pot of coffee at a time and spent way to much money on k cups lol.

  • Pam says:

I have one too and I don’t drink coffee. But I love the hot chocolate and teas!

  • Fi Ní Neachtáin says:

I’m not a coffee fan at all but this does look like such a cool coffee maker. I know my fiance would love it. He’d think it was a real novelty to have a different flavour coffee each day. I may have to get him one 🙂

  • Kimberly says:

I am also not a big coffee drinker, so we have the mini personal Keruig and I love it. It takes up very little space compared to our old coffee pot, and no more worries about having fresh coffee on hand! I honestly use mine to “brew” hot water in 60 seconds the most though LOL its so handy!

  • I’d love to have that Keurig of yours. I have one of the first ones that ever came out, and it’s time for an upgrade.

  • JEANINE says:

My hubby had been asking for one of these for some time. Thinking of grabbing one last minute. I don’t drink coffee so I’m not sure what to get so I’m grateful for these types of posts!

  • Catherine S says:

I love my Keurig. I use it for coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I would love to get an upgraded version.

  • Krystal says:

I have an older Keurig and Would LOVE to upgrade. I love the carafe.

  • I think the Keurigs are actually even better for casual coffee drinkers – you can brew a cup at a time and try a ton of different blends and roasts to find what you like. We had one, but we are a couple of pots a day family so it didn’t fit too well with our usage habits. Love the variety though.

  • Nancy says:

I received a Nescafe Dolce Gusto to review a few months ago but i wish I had reached out to Keurig! I cannot for the LIFE of me find pods for the Nescafe, and not only that – they produce an espresso amount of coffee per pod, so it’s a total jip 🙁

Luckily, when I fly back home to Canada I can use my parents Keurig I bought for them one Christmas – and get my fix in, then.

  • I love my Keurig but I think it’s slowly dying. I have cleaned it more times in the past 3 months than I have had in the years I have had it. Maybe I should just buy this one. It’s pretty rad. Love that mug!

  • I just bought a new Keurig and I debated between the one I had previously and the new 2.0. I decided to stick with the same one as I had a bunch of k-cups to use with it. Next time I’ll try the new one, or they might even have something else by then. Keurig’s usually last me a year at best. I use them to death :).

  • MommaDJane says:

My daughter is getting a Keurig for Christmas so I have been going around collecting all the various flavor K-cups. She will be so excited.

  • Natalie says:

I got the first Keurig when it came out about five years ago, and it’s still going strong! I will only drink coffee if it’s iced, sugary, and flavored, so I use the Keurig for teas and cocoas. Even without drinking hot coffee, our Keurig gets a lot of use. I love using it for a cup of hot water when I want to use loose leaf tea–the Keurig’s so much faster than boiling a pot of water on the stove!

  • Natalie says:

We had this awesome Keurig we got last year around tax return it was on sale. But then, when my husband moved out he took it with him, hahah.. I have to get a new one still. We have a hoarding collection of kcups in the kitchen. The kids love making drinks with it as well.

  • Raijean says:

I’m guilty! I use mine more for tea and lemonade and I love it. So glad it has multiple uses.

  • chasing joy says:

I’m not really a coffee drinker either. But i do kind of want a Keurig too. I’d like to try some of thr non coffee beverages.

  • Rosey says:

We’ve purchased a Keurig for my oldest son and his wife, my FIL, my mom, good friends of ours, and this year my husband’s aunt, lol. I think they’re just a perfect gift item!

  • Chrysa says:

Love this new Keurig with the larger brewing pot. I think it would be worth the money to upgrade just for that.

  • Dawn says:

We have multiple keurigs and we love them! Even if you don’t drink coffee often, they also have lattes, cocoa, and tea!

  • I purchased a single serve blender for me to open on Christmas that I am excited about. If I liked coffee I would totally want a Keurig.

  • Myrabev says:

I am a tea and hot chocolate drinker not much coffee if at all. This coffee maker looks good and works similar to the one we have at the office though ours doesn’t dispense hot water separately like our earlier machine as that was a very handy feature

  • Brandy says:

I just used a Keurig for the first time the other day! I loved it and now i feel like I have to have one. Appreciate you sharing how much you like it!

  • I love that mug. Too cute. We’ve been going back and forth about getting a Keurig. We really need to just make it happen.

  • Mark says:

This is an awesome, thorough, helpful website! Thanks so much!
