Macys Celebrates Black History Month with Jurnee Smolett-Bell | Atlanta Friday 05 February, 2016
Join us this February as we salute a rising icon of African American culture! African American actors, artists and performers have been commanding the spotlight for decades, but the newest generation of trendsetters is in a class all its own.
I am so excited Jurnee Smollet-Bell is headling this event. She is an actress who has been a star since she was a little girl, first seeing her in Full House, then in her breakout role in Eve’s Bayou, the Great Debaters, Tyler Perry’s Temptation, True Blood and her upcoming television series Underground.
I am a fan of her work, and honestly when I was growing up everyone thought we looked alike. My favorite film in life is Eve’s Bayou and I am even going to name my future daughter (when I have kids in the future) after her. So I am uber excited about attending this event and doing a recap for you all. She is heavily involved in humanitarianism, she is classy and a great role model for girls and women everywhere.
