Chichen Itza, meaning “at the mouth of the Itza well”, is a Mayan City on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, between Valladolid and Merida. It was established before the period of Christopher Colombus and probably served as the religion center of Yucatan for a while.
Today it is the second most visited site of Mexico. Apart from one of the new seven wonders of the world; The Kukulkan Pyramid. Check out some of the amazing structures and Mayan ruins of the famous Chichen Itza.
It was so amazing to be apart of these ancient ruins. The Mayans were so crafty and skillful with their designs. I kept looking at all of their monuments and structures, many with hieroglyphics and I just want to know how did they do it?
LUNCH BUFFET
After spending a few hours at Chichen Itza ruins with the guided tour, we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch. They had a great selection of Mexican cuisines, and suitable for any dietary choices. It was really good, nice traditional Mexican decor and even a little entertainment while you ate.
IK KIK CENOTE
I love centotes and they are all over Mexico and Riviera Maya. I went to 3 centotes on my particular trip in Mexico, but Ik Kik wacentote was included in the tour. You get an hour to be in this cool underwater cave and cool off after a long day of exploring the ruins. It was a great addition to the tour.
It was fun doing the Chichen Itza tour with Olypus Tour and I would definitely do another tour with the company again when I return to Mexico. They were very professional, informative, timely and I was comfortable for the entire experience.

The architecture is a wonder in itself. Whenever I get a chance to visit ancient ruins like that, it always amazes me to think how people of ancient times were able to build such massive, geometrically correct structures with only crude instruments. I would want a chance to visit Chichen Itza. What a wonderful opportunity for you that you were able to be there.
