{Movie Review} Charlie Brown Goes 3-D in The Peanuts Movie Friday 06 November, 2015

I had a movie date with Charlie Brown recently to see The Peanuts Movie and I am here to tell you all about it. Yes I went to a screening that targeted mostly elementary school children, no I don’t have any kids or had any kids to borrow for the screening so yes I went solo!I went as a big kid who remembers Charlie Brown as a child…I had to go and relive my own childhood! Big Kid and dont care…you gonna let me borrow your kid next time? (lol)
The-Peanut-Movie-2015-movie-review-Charlie-Brown-1 I love when something classic gets renovated and brought back into rejuvenation for other generations to appreciate. Charlie Brown was actually in my parents era as far as cartoons on television but The Peanut comics have been around since the 50s. I used to read the newspaper comics every day and look forward to reading Charlie Brown and the Peanut gang. I know this new generation is like newspapers? Thats so ancient history…well I guess I am super old. No tablets and electronic books for me. Good old paper and 2-d cartoon of this classic for me.Speaking of 2-D another trend that has been happening in the movie/tv industry is to take a nostalgic 2-d cartoon and revive it into 3-d animation! So Charlie Brown in the gang is in 3-D!

THE PEANUTS MOVIE (20TH CENTURY FOX)

Synopsis: Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.

Found a cutie at the Atlanta movie screening…so I did have a kid to borrow. JK! No this gorgeous gem is Navia Robinson, new star on the hit BET Show Being Mary Jane as she was as sweet as can be! Check her out if you watch the show…she walked the red carpet at the premiere and she complimented my hair (hers is way more fab).  The-Peanut-Movie-2015-movie-review-Charlie-Brown-2

What I loved about this new 3-d 2015 version of The Peanut movie is that even though it was modern it stayed true to its classic theme. The kids in the film didn’t have cell phones, tablets – the kids had fun with kites! Do kids even play with kites anymore (and I am not talking about in an app)?  Charlie Brown still has his bouts of bad luck but things do turn around for him! All the characters and friends from the gang where there Lucy, Linus, Patty, Franklin and of course Snoopy and Woodstock still with their same essence! Snoopy, although he doesnt speak at all in the film he cracked me up! He is so funny! I really did enjoy this film, childless and all because its still stayed trued to who they were from when I remembered as a child. So young and old, adult and children with kids or not you would love this film. A classic cartoon that came to life out of the comic strip in 3-d form was amazing! Does the blockhead boy with the striped yellow shirt finally win in life?
