1983 National Lampoon’s Vacation Movie

Vacation Movie (contination of the 1983 classic)
TRAILER
My Opinion: Ok I am going to get straight into my review. This is clearly a continutation off of the original National Lampoon’s Vacation movie from 30 years ago. Let me tell you right now, I did not see the 1983 original National Lampoon’s Vacation film. I love Chevy Chase actually, but this movie was a little before my time…and this is why remakes/continuation series are so important. This isn’t a remake, because it’s actually a great spin on the series as the Griswald’s children have grown up, have their own families and now take their own family vacations! This is a modern version of the Griswalds…and boy the modern version clearly have potty mouths!
I will say even though I didn’t see the original, I didn’t need to see it to follow the story and enjoy this film. I was laughing the entire time. It was rarely a time in the film I wasn’t laughing! The children are a mess, two boys polar opposites of each other. The oldest son is well behaved and isnt a troublemaker who is into learning about nature, and the younger pre-teen son a complete mess loaded with a full curseword filled language and very crass and a bully! The parents are planning their annual family vacation with a bit of a twist going cross country to Griswald’s beloved childhood themed park at Wallyworld…but not without drama along the way of course. Again, if you are into laughing throughout an entire movie and dry humor tickles your fancy…this is the movie for you. If you are trying to see a nice wholesome vacation themed movie where you can take the whole family…I would recoomend against it please! The language is too vulgar and some of the content is a little explicit for your kids…so please leave your kids at home. This is nice adult-filled humor. It pokes fun of the modern wholesome American picture perfect family…and we need to break up that menotony sometimes. Love this film…and yes Mr.Chevy Chase makes an apperance in this film – he had to!
I highly recommend to see this movie before the summer is up! Great way to enjoy the rest of your summer and send those kids off to school with a laugh *FYI I still recommend this movie is NOT for children*!
Vacation film debuted in theaters July 29th. In theathers now! #VacationMovie
Ever had a vacation roadtrip mishap? Were you a fan of the original National Lampoon’s version of Vacation?
This looks like a nice movie to watch for the whole family. Thsanks for posting the trailer.
Oh man this is going to be amazing. I Love the cast so I know it won’t disappoint. Looks so funny.
I’m really excited to see this. I loved the other two movies. I just hope this can live up to them!
I love all the Vacation movies. I think I have seen them all so I am curious to see how this plays out as a continuation.
I do hope this one is as good as the others. Fingers crossed! I need a good laugh.
I may have to see it for Ed Helms alone. I remember the original being very shocking at the time but really funny.
OK, I LOVED the Griswalds growing up and I’m going to have to check this out because, well, it’s National Lampoon!
The only one I’ve seen is the Christmas one. I don’t think I’ll be seeing this one though it looks silly.
Sounds like a great movie
it looks like a fun movie the whole family can enjoy! There are not too many movies around like that these days!
This sounds like a great movie for the whole family. I think I have seen the Chevy Chase movie, I just don’t remember it much.
I’ve seen previews of Vacation on TV and thought it looked funny. Glad to hear that you gave it a good review.
This looks like a fun movie. I haven’t heard of it before, but definitely adding it to my must-see list.
This movie looks hilarious, I love Stew from The Hangover series. I’ve been a fan of Christina Applegate since Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead. hahahaha
Happy to see Christina Applegate acting! I think she stopped for awhile? This sounds cute.
OMG, I SO hope that this can stand up to the original movies. They were some of my favorites.
I cannot believe you never saw the original Vacation movie! It is one of our family favorites!
This looks like a great movie and I can’t wait to see it. I enjoyed all of the original National Lampoons movies.
Omg this movie looks great!!!!! Something the whole family can enjoy! Can’t wait to see it 🙂
OMGoodness…you have to see the original one, and you have to see European Vacation too. Anyways, I want to see this movie – I already know I’m going to be laughing.
I loved the original. I can’t wait to see this movie with my dh.
I so have to see this. Looks to be so funny
I never saw the original, but this looks like it will be a great movie! I’ll have to check it out! 🙂
My husband has seen all of the Vacation movies and is really excited about this one. I think it looks hilarious but want to catch up on a few of the older films before watching this updated release.
I’ve seen a few commercials for this movie. It looks really funny.
I loved the Vacation series when I was younger. I love that it’s been reimagined for a new generation.
Can’t wait to see this. My husband turns into Clark Griswald when we go on vacation.
I can’t wait for this one. I am obsessed with the original. It’s such a classic.
I loved the Lampoons movies. I can’t wait to see this.
I love the original! I’m really excited for this continuation!
The National Lampoon’s series is by far one of my all-time fave movie series!!! I love Chevy Chase! I could watch those movies over and over and over again!
I’m glad to hear you liked it! I am a huge fan of the original, so I definitely want to see this new one!
This sounds like a fun movie to watch. I’ll have to add it to my must see list.
I love the original movie, so it’s good to know that this is a hit too. Maybe I’ll check it out.
Chris Hemsworth.Yes please. I grew up watching Christina Applegate week after week on Married with Children. Just adore her. I loved all the vacation movies. I am so excited to see this movie.
I can’t wait to see the movie. Such a fan of the Lampoon series.
The original was a bit *cheeky* too, so I can imagine how this may not necessarily be good for the younger set. While I don’t have kids myself, I honestly tend to wait for most things to come to cable, so I won’t end up seeing it until then anyways! LOL
Glad to hear he makes an appearance though – sometimes ‘remakes’ or ‘reset’s’ as I call them get done and I take it as a bad sign if none of the original cast is willing to return, so this gives me hope!
We have had a lot of road mishaps. This movie looks really fun and would love to see it.
I’ve heard mixed reviews of this film. I am sure we’ll see it maybe once it reaches the Redbox.
I just seen a preview of this movie the other night. I can’t wait to see this one because I know it will be funny. It has some great actors in it too. Thanks for sharing.
I am excited to see this. A few of my friends and I are going.
Any movie that would have me laughing from beginning to end is my kind of movie. I’ve never seen the original either so I’m happy to hear that you can still enjoy this version.
I didn’t like this movie. I had a few chuckles maybe but that’s it.
