Travel Life | Qatar Airlines Lands in Atlanta! Friday 20 May, 2016
I am excited as I attended Qatar Airways hosted a capacity-crowd press conference in Atlanta to discuss its new service, which will commence June 1, 2016. Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world and is the tenth destination the airline serves in the United States, connecting to Qatar Airways’ home at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, and to more than 150 destinations world-wide. So this is exciting news for all international travels connecting to Atlanta or ATL travelers in general. You guys know how I am on the go a lot with my international travels, I never traveled Qatar Airways before so I wanted to learn how this was going to impact Hartfield Jackson’s airport as a premier airline.
Atlanta is projected to be a key route for business and leisure traffic, conveniently connecting the Far East, Africa and the Middle East regions to the State of Georgia, positively impacting business, conference- and convention attendance, and family and friends visitor traffic. The route between Hartsfield–Jackson (ATL) and Hamad International Airport (HIA) will be operated daily nonstop with a Boeing 777, with the exception of the first flight – which will be deployed with an Airbus A380 superjumbo for one day only, on June 1.

What I learned about Qatar is that they pride themselves on comfort and entertainment services on their airlines. In 2015 Qatar Airways launched Oryx One, an enhanced interface for its in flight entertainment system, increasing the number of movies and TV shows on board from 950 to up to 3,000. Passengers flying on Qatar Airways flights served by its B787, A350, A380, A319 as well as select A320 and A330 aircraft can also stay in touch with their friends and family around the world by using the five-star airline’s on-board Wi-Fi and GSM service. With long flights I can see myself getting comfy with the seating and television!
Learning more about Qatar Airlines made me excited about future traveling with the brand. I live in Atlanta, but many international flights you have to connect to major international airlines – so this is amazing that a premiere international brand will be at my home. They have great introductory rates currently from Atlanta you should check out – and hopefully I will be flying with them soon! I will love to take flight with Qatar Airways – I will keep you all informed when I do!

Looks like a great airline! I don’t travel often and I’ve only ever been on one plane before but it looked NOTHING like that! This is pretty awesome looks like a lot of fun!

I have never heard of Qatar Airways but holy cats – that is one fancy airplane! The flight attendants look like something right our of the 50’s – they are adorable.
Sounds like it was a very informative conference – and one that you discovered a lot of new advancements! I’m afraid of flying, but I do love hearing of new services to make it more enjoyable!

I’ve been lucky to use their services before and I can plead with the same satisfactions as yours. My next destination is planned already but I wish my next plane would be as comforting as Qatar Airlines.
I have flown Qatar Airlines a few times, to Dubai and Doha, and Bahrain and always had a great experience with them. They are so polite and their planes are great. You really get to fly your money’s worth!
Wow! That looks like it would be a very comfortable trip! I have flown through Atlanta several times, it is so busy! But, much better than flying through Chicago 🙂
I’ve never been on an international flight. I’m already loving their seating and entertainment features. It’s been a long time since I flew (1993) so not sure how this compares to other planes, but WOW!

How cool; it sounds like a great event, but also, how awesome that they are introducing non-stop flights to Atlanta! That will be great for business and travelers.
I have flown Qatar its up there with being a favourite along with Emirates! Cant wait to fly with them again! I actually love flying and when its with them its even better!!

Holy. Moly. I can honestly say that I have never seen a nice plane setup nor have I been on such a nice plane.
What an airline! I’ll take television screens in the seat over cramped and stuffy any day.

I think the seats look extremely comfortable. If I had to fly somewhere, I would definitely be comfortable on a Qatar flight, that’s for sure!
