The 6th Annual ESSENCE Fashion House in NYC: Embracing Black Fashion with the Theme “Luxury Undefined” Wednesday 11 September, 2024
The 6th annual ESSENCE Fashion House brought together a vibrant mix of Black trailblazers, creatives, designers, and fashion lovers for a night to remember, filled with meaningful conversations, stunning showcases, and a whole lot of inspiration.
This year’s theme, “Luxury Undefined,” beautifully captured the fusion of fashion and culture while amplifying Black voices in the industry. Attendees were given exclusive insights and tools to help them make their mark in the fashion world.
Kicking off the 2024 ESSENCE Fashion House was an electrifying set by DJ David, setting a lively tone for an evening celebrating style and culture. Hosted by the fabulous model and actress Eva Marcille, this year’s event featured engaging panels and discussions that delved into the importance of authenticity in fashion. Here are some of the standout moments from the night:
A discussion with Misa Hylton, acclaimed celebrity stylist and fashion designer, on how to navigate authenticity in the luxury market and the importance of cultural integrity and originality.
A panel with Theophilio’s Edwin Thompson andL’Enchanteur’s Soull and Dynasty Ogun that spoke to attendees about discovering and refining their personal style while exploring different aesthetics and experimenting with clothing and accessories.
A compelling conversation moderated by ESSENCE Ventures President & CEO Caroline Wanga, featuring fashion designer Dapper Dan and rapper and fashion icon FERG as they discussed how designers balance staying true to their artistic visions while meeting the demands of the ever-changing commercial landscape.
