Spoiler Free Review

Let’s give a around of applause for MCU exponentially growing since its inception in 2008! With films and tv shows of an extremely high calibre under its belt it’s always great to keep following the stories of the characters we love. Thor: Love and Thunder is definitely a follow through of Thor: Ragnarok – one of the best films in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Fun Facts: We first met Thor in 2011, in his first solo movie, Thor. It’s been 11 years since then, and he’s appeared in 2 more Thor movies, and all four Avengers movies. He’s the first Marvel Cinematic Universe character to have 4 solo movies.

The fourth Thor, while visually stunning and humorous similar Ragnarok.

*Another fun fact: This will be the first time in Marvel cinematographic history there will be a partial nude scene.

At times, it felt like Thor: Love and Thunder wasn’t sure whether it wanted to be a rom-com or a horror; as it has elements of both genres. Dr.Strange Multiverse had elements of horror in it as well, so will this be a continued theme for Marvel Studio films?

Tessa Thompson will return to revive her Valkyrie role in Thor: Love and Thunder. This movie is the continuation of Thor: Ragnarok, where we saw Valkyrie for the first time.

Marvel’s recent tendency to create spin-off shows for their fan-favourite characters, it is being speculated that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie could possibly awarded it’s her own show. Valkyrie Character divulged a little bit in more depth in this film, but it was still more to be desired from the King. I would be here for a spin-off show!

Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8th

I’m not sure how I felt about it. It was silly, and I’m not sure that Natalie Portman is believable as a superhero. IDK – jury is still out on how I feel about it!

  • May says:

Personally, I wasn’t happy with the last two Thor movies even though Love & Thunder was largely based on the comics. I felt that it was made into one big joke. I believe in comedic timing…this one was riddled with too much jokes, the humor wasn’t that appealing to me anymore. And too much fan service have turned into a disservice. I felt that my favourite Avenger was disrespected.

That said, we are still a family of Marvel geeks, so we will await the next.

    Rant over, haha!

  • Rosey says:

I read that the girl from the start of the movie is his daughter. I think that’s cool.
