Top Black Christmas Movies to Watch This Holiday Season Monday 02 December, 2019
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas movie binging time! I will say the inspiration for this post was originally for my own Google search, and I didnt see any 2019 compliations of black holiday movies. Yes I was specifically looking for African American holiday movies, because I just wanted to see what was out this year. It seems over the years tv networks, streaming channels and movies are doing a better job of having more African Americans star in holiday movies.
Lets be honest, even five years ago it wasn’t a lot of black star casted holiday movies. They were far and in-between to see an all melanated cast for a wholesome holiday movie. Well I am happy to say there are plenty to choose from this year, so mark your calenders, get your cozy socks and blanket, snacks, hot cocoa and your tv/smart device and lets watch some holidays movies with melanin!

*A Family Reunion Christmas
I have to mention this holiday special, even though it is not a Holiday movie because I love this show on Netflix. I covered Netflix’s Family Reunion, and I am a fan on the show and happy it is renewed for Season 2 on the platform! In the meantime waiting for Season 2 of Netflix’s Family Reunion, we get a holiday special. It seems on television shows that air on tv, they don’t do as many Christmas specials like back in the day. Its great that Netflix is implementing a holiday special with this show, and bringing some serious 90s tv nostaliga back with some special guest!
Netflix released an official trailer for A Family Reunion Christmas with Harry, who played Mowery’s mother on their ’90s hit sitcom, which also starred Tia’s twin sister, Tamera Mowry, who played her long-lost twin on the show.
A Family Reunion Christmas streams on Netflix December 9.
