So fall is officially here and its time to pull out all of your seasonal attire. So the scarves, leggings, cardigans, boots and more are being switched into your wardrobe over your tanks, shorts and sandals. I actually hate when it gets cold…but the older I get the more I do appreciate the fall weather.
Plaid has been a staple fall/winter season print for years, and let me be honest I only owned a few items of plaid. I said I needed to go buy more because it goes with everything and very stylish if worn right! You guys know I am not the “fashionista” blogger to give you an Outfit of the Day recap…I just dont do those…sorry. I own one plaid shirt, and I will buy more and maybe showcase to you guys in the future how I wear it, but I decided to do something different!
So the lack of plaid I have in my home, I ran to my nearest fabric story and bought some! Hidden Talent alert* Did you all know I can sew? Yes I taught myself how to hand sew at 11 years old and thought I was gonna be a clothing designer…I really don’t know what happened to that dream. Well I was inspired to get some fabric and sew them into the clothes I already own! I know I could of just bought a flannel shirt…but something told me to sew! I decided to sew a pretty plaid heart on my Cardigan to give it an extra flair!
Ok so originally I wanted to sew hearts on my elbow…so I can do the cliche I wear my heart on my sleeve. I had a mishap with that (lol) so I decided to do something else. I kept the extra heart though.

I decided to sew the plaid heart on my pocket of my cardigan. To get the heart, just cut out a heart (print out from online or create your own) from a piece of paper, trace it around a plaid fabric and pin it to your clothes. I am using a cardigan, but you can spruce up your wardrobe with anything; a shirt, a blazer, jeans, etc…
Wa-La! Excuse me…VOILA! My pretty plaid heart is on my cardigan! I had this cardigan for a few years, very basic but this jazzed it up a bit. Anyone can do this, it just with a simple needle and thread and if you are fancy – pull out your sewing machine!

I like the idea of a plaid heart. I see a lot of plaid and sewing for me in the next few months. I went to buy Listerine yesterday and the store had none on the shelves. Now I know why. I will have to call the shops in the city and find out who has some of these plaid Listerine bottles in stock.
