In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang.
Jonathan Majors is already having one of the best years ever. He is starting the year off as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Universe and the following month, we will see he go blow for blow opposite Michael B.Jordan in Creed.
Kang the Conqueror definitely has left a mark on the Marvel Universe. A villain of course, Kang is trillions of years old and has actually destroyed countless entire universes using his own technology that he both invented and built himself.
This is Marvel, who host and reign supreme of what we have as the multiverse universe. The are so many versions of “Kang” and he’s constantly doing time travel, and at different points in time he’s held different identities. The triply part is that Kang has different versions of him from different points in time know each other, and whenever they meet and interact, those individuals become distinct from each other and separate universes are formed. Basically how the many variants of Kang, and the current multiverse, are born.
Cool part is, not all of the variants of “Kang” are villains. Just keep this in mind after you finish watching the film.
Kang will be the major antagonist of the MCU Phase 5, building to a movie called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025.
Kang has left a pretty powerful stamp in the MCU. Can wait to see what is next!
