Authentic Italian Cuisine at Piastra | Marietta Square Monday 10 August, 2020

Due to the pandemic travel has been put to a halt, but in Georgia if you want a taste of Italy I found an authentic Italian Restaurant. Piastra is a Italian restaurant that is true and authentic from the cuisine, menu, drinks and ambiance.
To feel like you are in Italy, I had to get some wine it was a must. I love Sangria and I got a colorful, rich red blend fruity Sangria.
What I loved about this restaurant is that Piastra does not use any GMO foods in their kitchen. They have zero dough conditioners or stabilizers in their bread & proudly use only King Arthur Flour. Piastra cooks with Sunflower Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Olive Oil, eliminating the need for Soy or Canola Oil products.
PRIMI

Peach Caprese Salad – peach, mozzarella, basil & tomato
I started my meal with an appetizer, but in Italian its called Primi. My primi was a peach caprese salad. I love the gorgeous presentation and the peach rendition of this was unique. It definitely was a cute blend of Italy and Georgia!
SECONDI

INDENTRO – Giant House-made Raviolis filled with rich Tomato Conserva topped with Truffle Goat Ricotta cream
My main course, or in Italian its called , I got an indentro. It was giant raviolis that was really delicious. I loved that it was adorned with popcorn as a garnish.
I loved this dish but I did add grilled shrimp. This is additional al a carte option to this secondi, but I loved it with this. Ask your server to add this if you would like this additionally.

SOTTECOTTE GRIGLIA* (GF) – Dry aged Prime New York Strip with Crispy Fingerling Potatoes and Cheesy Broccoli
If you are more of a steak and potato person instead of pasta or pizza, this is a good order. My guest enjoyed this combo. Just know this is the Italian rendition of this dish, so no ketchup for your crispy fingerling potatoes (fries), but it is very well seasoned.
DOLCE

CIOCCOLATO CROCCANTE – Chocolate Cake topped with Hazelnut Meringue, Blackberries and a Chocolate shell, finished with warm Caramel Sauce
You cant end a meal without dessert, or in Italian its known as Dolce. What I ordered was a Cioccolato Croccante is an experience to be had! Now this comes in a beautiful chocolate dome that gets melted by beautiful warm caramel sauce.

CIOCCOLATO CROCCANTE – Chocolate Cake topped with Hazelnut Meringue, Blackberries and a Chocolate shell, finished with warm Caramel Sauce
It transforms this dessert into its melted glory! The chocolate is really rich and decadent.
Piastra has a beautiful indoor ambiance, but also a great outdoor front patio vibe too. I chose to eat outdoors due to not currently eating indoors during a pandemic. Outdoors is wonderful and in the heart of the Marietta Square.

Oh my! These food are all mouthwatering. They all look looks so delicious!
I’ll definitely take the chocolate cake with hazelnut meringue any day. I love eating desserts but swore off it during the pandemic because it’s too many calories.
What a beauty after all! It takes my breath away. Most of all, I was impressed by the elephant seals lying next to each other. I look at them and am simply amazed how they are always together and guarding each other in a completely different way than we humans.
