Why You Should Drink More Cold Press Juice | IQ Juice Review Thursday 26 February, 2015

I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately but I have been on a super health kick. Well maybe I should say whats right with me we should all try to aspire to live a healthier lifestyle. Being healthy is even “trendy” with everyone going vegan, gluten-free, organic, etc…I haven’t done any of those thing…but I have always been really conscious on what I drink.

The older I get, the more conscience I am on what I eat and drink. Maybe it’s maturity, maybe it’s my tastebuds…maybe I am starting to realize my metabolism isn’t like it was ten years ago where I can scarf down anything I want and still have a flat belly (I never appreciated those days). I will say I have never been much of a carbonated drinker and I hate drinks that are made from concentrate. Before juicing and smoothies was a “thing” (Im such a hipster) I was heavy on those and I still am! But I have been craving more…so I started to do research on cold-pressed juices and started to follow an account on Instagram. The company is called IQ Juices and they were kind enough to sponsor some drinks for my friends from my past Galentine’s #50ShadesofRed Lunch + Movie this year.

My Galentine’s gifts and goodies from friends!

iQ Juice sponsored the drinks and I put cute Valentine’s tags on each drink

All of the ladies got iQ Juices with V-Day tags that read “I want Juice to be my Valentine”

Prior to my event, I never tried iQ Juices. I was just curious as to how it was and wanted to share it with the ladies. They all loved it and each of them received a different product from the collection. I also put cute tags and paper straws on all of the juices in spirit of V-day because I am festive like that (V-Day is my favorite holiday). Besides the juices at this party, all of the girls had to give each other Valentine Day Cards and candy and we did a cute Secret Cupid exchange. It was super cute for the occasion!

I didn’t want to give the ladies just the drinks just to be giving it to them. I wanted to showcase to them that you are what you eat drink and consuming these juices would be great nutrients to have to consume for a healthier life. After the event, I saved a few for myself and wanted to indulge in these cold press juices.
Cold-Pressed-Juice-IQ-Why-Blog (1) So what’s the hype around cold press juices anyways? Most juices on the market are unpasteurized,  in which these juices have a shorter shelf life and are more susceptible to being contaminated with harmful microorganisms such as bacteria and yeast. Yes even your believed preium super juices can be considered unpasteurized and as healthy as it sounds, many of them are loaded with lots of sugar.  Cold pressed juice machines extract juice by pressing and grinding fruits and vegetables without adding heat, hence the term “cold-pressed.” Once high pressure is applied to raw juice, it is then placed into a container and sealed. Cold-pressed juices must be refrigerated and have a longer shelf-live than unpasteurized juices. Juice retains more nutrients because fruits and vegetables aren’t shredded with blades, which exposes the produce to air and speeds up oxidation. So overall cold-pressed juices are healthier, have longer shelf lives, and more juice from the fruits and vegetables are extracted to make the concoction.

What is iQ juice? Well according to the brand, iQ juice is a smart juice for it harnesses nature’s intelligence and give you a delicious way to nourish the body and mind. The founders started this brand because they were looking for holistic plant-based remedies for their mother who had Alzhiemer’s. On the journey for the remedy, they discovered the natural healing powers of  antioxidants in fruits and vegetables and iQ juice was born!  iQ Juice differs from most ‘health’ drinks is they contain substantial dosages of active functional ingredients that are effective for fat burning, brain health, natural energy and immunity.

So the one I started to drink was the iQ juice cleanse. Juicing cleanses are very popular today, seems like everyone around me has being trying a juice cleanse. Some people do juice cleanses as meal supplements to detoxify the body and flush out impurities. I didn’t use this juice as a meal supplement, because I need to eat I will be honest, but drinking this with meals is just as effective.

How this works? iQ juice Cleanse uses the powerful cleansing combination of Green Tea and Coconut Milk. According to studies, green tea has been used for millineas and is one of the most powerful super foods available. Green Tea is also high in antioxidants which has many benefits and powerful cleansing properties to help remove toxins from the body. This juice increases metabolism to help the body burn fat and four times faster than average (teenage metabolism is back yay).

Coconut Milk contain lauric acid. Clinical research has proven it helps with digestion while its anti-bacterial properties assist in destroying harmful bacterial in the stomach.

iQ Juices in Rise Up + Relaxation

These are just two more from the iQ juice collection. Rise Up (energy juice) + Relaxation (not on the market yet). Each of the juices in the collection are catered to your mood or what you would like to accomplish with your health and body. Most products will just throw out 100% juice or use your favorite health buzzword “organic” to get you the consumer to buy the product. iQ juice goes into depth to explain exactly what is in each container and a little reading material on each bottle so you can know exactly how the product will benefit you health wise. That’s how you raise your health iQ! Great branding on that…who doesn’t want to know the true benefits of drinking a beverage? Drink smarter – literally!

iq-juice-cold-press-blog3 I really love iQ juices! I’ve only tried two (Cleanse + Rise Up) but both of these were really delicious. I am big on taste and just because it has a mixture of fruits and vegetables doesn’t mean it has to have an acquired taste. Also some so-called top of the line juices I’ve tried in the past  are full of pulp. I know some people like pulp, I like it in my orange juice at a minimum but I like a clean fluid juice. I don’t want all of those extra clumps and iQ doesnt have that. I live in Atlanta, there are very few and in between Juice Bars in my area and not a lot of places I can get cold pressed juices. iQ juice at the moment is an online distributor so I guess I can get my fixed delivered to me! I’m getting older and I am what I consumer. I do my research, I look at the back of labels and actually look at what I am going to intake. Call me a food snob because I am. Seriously I don’t play around with what I drink and you shouldn’t either. This isn’t a sponsored post this is me because serious and hopefully share with you all my revelation on cold-pressed juices and inspire you to drink smarter too!
