{Event Recap} Ladies Who Brunch Atlanta Networking Soiree Wednesday 30 July, 2014

I attended recently a very empowering royal tea themed soiree for the local women of Atlanta. Brunch in Atlanta is kind of a big deal here, so what better way to bring a multiplicity of women while socializing, shopping and uplifiting is to have a networking brunch. Hundreds of female entrepreneurs and tastemakers attended the beautiful Biltmore in Atlanta for the Ladies Who Brunch Atlanta “Royal Tea Affair” created and hosted by Dayira Jones and Bianca Rush.
The decor and set up was amazing! Definitely high tea style and lots of pops of pink, black and white to go with the ultra feminine theme of class and sophistication for the festivities.

Host + Panelist (l to r): Dayira Jones, Emily B., Latasha Wright, Necole B., Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey and Bianca Rush
The star studded panel featured Kandi Burruss (Grammy Award Winning Artist, serial entrepreneur and Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta), Cynthia Bailey (The Bailey Agency, supermodel and Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta), Necole B. (entertainment blogger), Emily B. (celebrity wardrobe stylist, shoe designer and Vh1’s Love & Hip Hop New York) and Latasha Wright (celebrity makeup artist and cosmetic line creator). The day was filled with words of empowerment as the panelists shared their wisdom and experiences about business and entrepreneurship.
Everyone who spoke on the panel had something profound to speak on and share with the ladies in the room. All of the women are current successful entrepreneurs as they all opened up vulnerably on how each of their accomplishments made them who they are today. As women, we always have to fight and prove a point of our level of achievement and worthiness and they all left the audience with tidbits of knowledge to inspire and to reach personal goals. As 3 of the panelist are on reality tv, I think this was a positive outlet for them to shine, instead of highlighting the negative portrayal of female interaction, drama, and controversies that would usually surround their names.
My favorite part of this networking soiree was definitely meeting and listening to Necole Bitchie who was apart of the panel. If you dont know who Necole Bitchie (yes inspired by celeb Nicole Richie name) she is a entertainment blogger who has been running her blog necolebitchie.com since 2007. I was a blogger back then as well (but very small-time and just for fun) and I was an avid and loyal reader of hers. I literally seen her blog grow over the years, and saw her morph into an overnight blogger sensation. I was so pleased to meet her because I am very much so inspired by her. If you are a blogger, you know that it can be a serious challenge transitioning from hobby blogger to full-time blogging as a career and making your blog a household name. Necole was able to make that transition not too long after her blog launch, before being a “blogger” was a cool thing and social media could be a leverage to making your readership grow.
Necole B. is my peer and when I hear her speak and continue to follow her success I still think to myself strongly, if she can do it I can do it too. Its all about persistence and positivity and happy to have hear her vocal speak on her own testimony and triumps. Oh and she is totally my blogger friend in my head! Hey Girl!
At the end of the panel discuss there was a crowd celebratory celebratory declaration for all the women in the room who wants to be their own boss. Below is the strong affirmation the room recited as we toast to future success and prosperity to all that seek it.

I do declare for myself one day to be really success with my blog, brand, and any business plans and dreams that I can manifest in the near future. It’s always great to go to event where there are women who are seeking to uplift each other and inspire…I was grateful to attend my first Ladies Who Brunch event. (FYI my dress is totally vintage – I rarely thrift but I bought this 2 years ago and I love it)!
