FOX’S REL IS THE NEW COMEDY TO THE FOX TV FALL LINE UP Tuesday 04 September, 2018

Over the weekend, FOX hosted sold-out screenings of their new sitcom “REL” in Chicago and Atlanta. The show’s namesake, Lil Rel Howery, attended in his Chicago hometown on Saturday at Showplace ICON Theater, while cast member Jordan L. Jones was on hand in Atlanta yesterday at Regal Atlantic Station. You know Lil Rel aka REL best from the Oscar winning movie, GET OUT, and now he has his own comedy show!

In Atlanta, Dish Nation/Rickey Smiley Morning Show co-host Headkrack hosted the screening and facilitated the Q&A with Jordan, who talked about his journey from production assistant last year to now co-starring on a major sitcom. He credited his actress mom and a strong faith in God for his success.
TRAILER
Based on the life of Lil Rel Howery (“Get Out,” “Insecure,” “The Carmichael Show”), REL is a multi-camera comedy starring Howery as a loving husband and father living on the West Side of Chicago, who finds out his wife is having an affair. And not just any affair. An affair with Rel’s own barber. Quite easily the worst person for your wife to sleep with, because as hard it is to find a good spouse, it’s even harder to find a reliable barber. Plus, with the barbershop being one of the epicenters of neighborhood gossip, Rel finds his embarrassing business is known by everyone, including the Pastor (also played by Howery), before Rel can even process the emotions himself. Offering Rel support – that is, when they themselves aren’t butting heads – are Rel’s tough-talking, no-B.S. best friend, BRITTANY (Jess “Hilarious” Moore, “Wild ‘N Out”), and his recently out-of-jail younger brother, NAT (Jordan L. Jones, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Wisdom of the Crowd”), as well as Rel’s prideful DAD (Sinbad, “A Different World,” “The Sinbad Show,” “Jingle All The Way”), who perhaps has taken the barber news even harder than Rel. After his beloved kids move to Cleveland with their mom, Rel must begin the difficult task of rebuilding his life as a long-distance dad. He also jumps back into the dating pool – and often finds himself the victim of his own well-intentioned hubris. But, ever the optimist, he continues his search for love, respect…and a new barber.
I am truly excited to see Sinbad back on the little screen, I grew up on him and he was one of my favorite comedians as a child. Also, Jessica Hilarious who went from Instagram comedian to now being REL’s female sidekick on the show. I am very proud of her, as she will be apart of the new wave of female comedians in the industry!
Jordan L.J Jones is a newcomer to the industry but he is very funny on the show. He plays REL’s very annoying younger brother who bring just as much laughter to the show as everyone else. It was great to see him at the Atlanta screening and stay tune for more of him in the future!

My DVR is already set for this one. I watched Lil Rel in Get Out, Insecure, and The Carmichael Show. I’m excited for his career and I hope he goes far. I’m also excited about Sinbad because A Different World.

This guy is really funny. I showed my son the clip and he is ready to watch the show.
I’m going to do my best to support Lil Rel’s show. He was the standout star of Get Out and was so memorable.
