WHERE TO STAY IN MYRTLE BEACH | Hotel Blue BeachFront Resort Review Thursday 25 August, 2016
This hotel has been hosted on the behalf of Hotel Blue and Vacation Myrtle Beach. All opinions are my own.
Myrtle Beach is known for its family friendliness, but Hotel Blue BeachFront Resort is an adult-targeted hotel designed for a fun grown-up getaway vacation experience. More hotels are trying to market adult travelers whether its single solo traveling, with a group or your significant other it makes all the difference. Check out my review on this trendy and fun Myrtle Beach resort below.
I know many of you all summers are ending, but mine literally just started. I got an amazing press trip opportunity to check out Hotel Blue beachfront resort. This was the most high energy and entertaining hotel I have been to in a while.
The lobby dual as trendy lounge + bar + cafe area
So instantly when I walked into Hotel Blue I knew this was a different hotel set up. Walking it felt like a trendy swanky lounge, but what you are seeing 3 in 1 area. This is the area when you check-in, coffee cafe place and a bar. So the lobby is already a mini hang out area before you get started.

PROXIMITY AND 8 SOUTH
New to hotel BLUE, these amenities are the new wave in trendy, modern ways to party in Myrtle Beach. Featuring a stylish lobby bar, Proximity is comprised of comfortable, contemporary seating and design – the best spot for relaxing, meeting up with friends or sipping on a drink before going out for a night on the town. Just outside of Proximity is 8 South, a trendy new sundeck and lounge area featuring plenty of sunshine, views of the ocean, full bar service and live seasonal music.

CAFE BLUE
If you are feeling a bit hungry by the pool and are in need of a snack or a small bite to eat then look no further than Cafe BLUE. Open seasonally, our cafe offers a delightful, limited menu of items that are sure to hold you over until the next big meal and a wide array of Starbucks coffees made just how you like them! You see that correctly it is a direct Starbucks based cafe so this is always a perk. Starbucks is on-site and the great part about it is that its open to the public. So even if you arent staying at this hotel anyone is more than welcome to stop by.

So when I got to my room, which was a 2 Queen Bed Oceanfront Efficiency, we were welcomed with towel buddies. I thought this touch was adorable because it give you that true resort feel. Almost like if you were on an overseas resort or cruise.

So with this resort immediately you see this great feature of a full kitchen. Not a kitchette like many other hotels, but a full refridgerator, stove, oven and a sink. Along with the appliances it is fully equipped with cups, plates utensils and more. So you can really feel at home at Hotel Blue. Its rare to stay in a hotel in this form without it being a villa.

With the Oceanfront view the balcony gives you the perfect view of South Myrtle Beach. It was so beautiful to wake up to everyday and go out and see this amazing scenery.

Now only with this Oceanfront room do you see the ocean, but get an amazing view of the pool area! I love the shape and design of the pool and everyday was a fun party. Again this is the fun hotel, you can never get bored at this pool. There is also a nice hot tub to enjoy/

MIXX SWIM-UP POOL BAR
My absolute favorite part of the pool? Hand down the MIXX swimup bar area. This was the 1st swim-up bar pool made in Myrtle Beach. This makes it that more adult-focused and fun. Honestly I dont know too many swim-up bars in America. Usually I have to over to an international resort to experience this, so exciting to know I can do a swim-up bar here in Myrtle Beach. Forget about trendy restaurants and lounges, the pool is the new hot spot at hotel BLUE. Swim up to this awesome seasonal bar and order yourself an ice cold beer, a tropical drink or something non-alcoholic. Did we mention already that the bar stools are in the water? hotel BLUE is the home of South Carolina’s first Vegas-style swim-up pool bar! With bar stools in the water, you never have to leave the cool, refreshing pool to grab a drink. You can mingle with fellow guests and enjoy the live music that is featured on the pool deck all summer long.

Its a lot of fun trust me, lots of great cocktails mixes to choose from as well. You can even get fun souviner cups like these and get refills.
Indoor Lazy River at Hotel Blue
Another perk this hotel is known for is their indoor lazy pool. Rafts are provided and you can just coast in the lazy pool if the outdoor pool is getting too hot for you. There is also an indoor hot tub as well.
THERAPY OCEANFRONT POOL PARTY
Therapy Oceanfront Pool Party is a fun party that takes place during the summer. Sundays are the fundays here at Hotel Blue. People who would normal check-out actually stay longer because they know its Therapy Sundays at Hotel Blue. Therapy Sundays is really the party day at the pool. As I told you every day is a party, but Sundays take it up a notch. There is a live DJ, food is on-site and even cabana areas set up just for Sundays! This party is geared toward the +21 and up crowd, but if you are 18+ you are more than welcome to party including non-guest of the hotel.

Every Sunday its a PARTY in the pool!
As you can see it gets really crowded, almost like a Spring Break feel. I kept saying this, is it Spring Break season. Just FYI Therapy and Hotel Blue only allows 18+ and up at the pool (+21 to drink) unless supervised with an adult. I wouldn’t recommend bringing your kids to this pool on Therapy Sundays. There is Captains Quarters right next door that you can share the pool if you did bring children to this resort. Please take them next door, but otherwise this is the party scene. High energy, great music, and just more fun in the sun.

This is Tarren, my friend who accompanied me on the trip. We had so much fun mingling in the pool, meeting new people and dancing and enjoying the good vibes. I cannot stress enough how fun and exciting this pool party is. If you stay here in the summers I would definitely not check-out on Sunday! Pool Party last up until the colder seasons, possibly October, so it a great weekend getaway.
LOCO GECKO BEACH SHAK
The popular Loco Gecko Beach Shak offers a variety of options. Choose from burgers, wings, or great pizzas! Located at hotel BLUE’s sister hotel Captain’s Quarters, Loco Gecko is perfect for a quick meal or for a few hours by the bar. If you’re in the mood for lighter cuisine, Loco Gecko also offers fabulous salads and wraps. Loco Gecko offers casual dining at its best with a fresh atmosphere and plenty of choices and is open seasonally.
Its an awesome beach vibe restaurant and catina of American comfort food. It very quirky and food is fulfilling. Check out the items I order during my meal.

Although Hotel Blue is an adult focus hotel, they have a sister property where you can enjoy their amenities as well and children friendly at Captians Quarters. Captian’s Quarters is directly next door for Hotel Blue residents to enjoy so you get two hotels for one! The Amenities at Captains Quarters are:

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Blue, which is also just a short drive from numerous activities in Myrtle Beaches such as local attractions, restaurants and bars, shopping,, excursions and more. It lived up to its slogan as The Friendliest Place on the Beach. I really enjoyed my stay, and if you are looking for a fun adult getaway I highly recommend it. You dont always have to go to Vegas or Miami to have a fun hotel experience like how I did at Hotel Blue. Sometimes you want to have great fun, I love that it is targeted to adults and amenities to cater to that crowd. Again if you need even more fun and excited, go next door to Captain’s Quarters (I highly recommend that hotel for more families).
I will be doing a few review on what to do outside of the hotel and my experiences surrounding Myrtle Beach and recommendations. The hotel is a blast you barely want to leave but if you do, here are my suggestions.

A full kitchen? I’ve never stayed in a hotel that had one in the room. Thats pretty amazing. It looks like a gorgeous and really clean hotel, for sure a place to stay if ever in Myrtle Beach!
We always stay in a condo in North Myrtle, but this place looks amazing! I like that they have full kitchens, which is one of the main reasons we stay in a condo. I’ll definitely give Hotel Blue a look when we go to MB next summer.

How fun!! We did the whole adult resort thing for our honeymoon in Mexico, and the swim up bar was the best 🙂 These days I have two toddlers in tow, so this is definitely not on the list of things to do for me….looks awesome though 🙂
This looks like a dope spot for sure. They had me at the swings, so different yet creative. Your view was nice and you can’t go wrong with ocean front. That cajun corn though, my gosh.

I’ve been to Myrtle Beach twice. Once as a pre-teen with my family and a few other families. Then my husband and I went as a couple for a weekend. It was great but I’d love to visit this hotel for grown folks 🙂
While this hotel is geared to the adult side there are plenty of families that stay there including ours EVERY year!!! We first found this through word of mouth for our honeymoon! Sunday is the pool party in the busy season (that I wouldn’t take kids too)
We love this hotel and have came every year since 2012 and look forward to many more summers there!

Hotel Blue sounds fantastic! We’ve been to Myrtle Beach a few times, but we’ve never stayed there. That’s going to change on our next trip.
A full kitchen? I’ve never stayed in a hotel that had one in the room. Thats pretty amazing. It looks like a gorgeous and really clean hotel, for sure a place to stay if ever in Myrtle Beach!
