How My Vision Helped Me “Get In The Groove” | Win A Trip To The 2015 ESSENCE Festival Friday 29 May, 2015

I want to say this has been an extremely good year for me and we are only almost halfway into 2015. I started my year off for the third time with a vision board and a party and things have already unraveled from it. Have you ever had a vision and you just wanted it to come true but you didn’t know how? Self-doubted? Thought it was too far-fetched to even pursue it or even dream about it anymore. I think sometimes being an adult we can be our own dream killers…but I killed my own self-loathing once and for all.

I created a vision board in 2013, told you all this story before about my wonderful manifestation as a hair model and being featured nationally in several magazines and billboard in 2014. That was last year, a manifestation that over exceeded my expectations…but how could I top it this year? What could I possibly ask for in 2015 to top my desires from last year?

I said if I could be featured as a hair model brand ambassador, I surely could be featured in another magazine again with a blog feature about my site and even a cover story. I didn’t know how that was going to happen but being the dreamer that I am, I put it on my vision board and kept hope alive.

This is my vision board for 2015 that I created in January.

Voila! Look what happened in March. I was featured with fifteen bloggers across America for a print publication with It’s My Hair Magazine. I also had my own full page spread about myself and my blog. Manifested! But that’s not all…It’s My Hair Magazine told me that they had another surprise for me they wanted me to be a part of and the surprise was revealed in this issue as well…

As of this month, I got to reveal to the world my cover story for It’s My Hair Magazine! They wanted to not only feature me in the blogger edition, but the following issue as the cover girl! What’s smack dab in the middle of my vision board? That’s right, ‘At the Cover Shoot’. This is one of the proudest moments of my life right now. I spoke it into existence, I believed, I dreamed, I had visions and I manifested!

I am not bluffing, boasting or bragging about this accomplishment. I am sharing because if a little dreamer like me can make this happen, you totally can too! Now I truly believe the sky is the limit. It’s beyond just a vision board and putting cut-out magazine images and words on a poster, it’s the positive belief system you have around that. I want everyone to feel like they are worthy of their dreams, their goals, their happiness. Use my stories and testimonies as living proof that literally dreams come true. Maybe not all at once…but possible with every positive thought and vision you have for yourself you are one step closer. I got my groove back with my vision and you can too!

This is just so fabulous. I have heard people say in the past that they “spoke it into existence” and I know it can be done. I had a dream since I was 14 to be a park ranger at the Grand Canyon. I applied for the job for 5 years in a row before I got hired. As my husband and I were driving up the hwy to the entrance station the first year we worked there, I just couldn’t control my excitement. I did that job for 5 years before I finally retired. I am now 63 and it was my “grand experience” of my life. I loved every minute of it. Now I have to make a Vision Board for another dream I have.

  • OMGosh girl I am so THRILLED for you! YAH YAH!

My big thing this year was that I wanted to start fiction writing again and really hit the ground running. I’m exited to see my sales are really staring to climb and I am excited for that.

I’ve been creating a vision board for my website(s) as I am making some changes later this year. It’s going to take some time because of all the steps involved, but I feel this is the best decision I could make for myself.

  • Amber says:

Congratulations on all of the great things you are seeing manifested in your life! My biggest goal this year was to launch my ecourse on public speaking for bloggers and entrepreneurs, and I did it! It was well received and my students have been awesome. I look forward to doing more to grow my business and manifest big dreams this year!

I did a happy dance when I weighed myself recently! I’m the lowest I’ve been in awhile from running everyday.

  • Yaaaaaasssssss!!! You are KILLING the game and I love it! CONGRATS on all of your success. When I look at my vision board I get excited because I’ve begun to see a lot manifested. One of my proudest happy dance moments was speaking at Steve Harvey’s Act Like a Success Conference earlier this year 🙂

  • Nadeen says:

  • Congrats on all your success! Your story definitely inspires me to keep pushing towards all the goals on my own vision board. I’d have to say that my proudest moment has been co-authoring a book with my sister which is transforming lives. The testimonials we continue to get from women who have read Whose Shoes Are You Wearing? are a definite confirmation that, as challenging as some of the personal stories were to write, they were meant for us to share.
