How to Have a Pretty Discreet Period #SaveTheUndies Friday 14 August, 2015
Why do periods have to be such a secret? For centuries and since the inception of human kind….women had periods! Because of the taboo subject…women all over the world hide the fact that they are having a menstrual cycle. The world doesn’t want to hear it. Women are sometimes embarrassed by it, even if its a necessity to have for reproduction.
Even when it comes to the sanitary products for the menstrual cycle, woman have to hide their own products. I know some women who as adults, don’t like to pay for them at the grocery store – thank God for self check lines out right? Even their their own houses…God forbid the woman have house guest and accidentally see sanitary products in the bathroom. So many woman hide it under the bathroom sink for discretion.
But look at these new u by Kotex® Xpress Dri Pads! They come in such pretty packaging, I decided to keep them in open display in my bathroom. I found a simple wicker basket and put all of the pretty pads in there and its on the counter. Yup right in the open. So if any guest or men see it…so what? It’s too pretty to hide! Even if a woman put these in their purse and it accidentally spills out…the colors are so bright and the design is so creative…it wouldn’t be embarrassing to be seen. Adds a great pop of color in my bathroom…I need to do a whole bathroom DIY project, I will save for another day but until then this is cute and usable decor!

I actually already use Kotex. I am allergic to the dry weave in another leading brand, so Kotek’s has always been my go to pad. I’ve always been very happy.
Hey those really are Pretty enough to be displayed openly in the bathroom! (Although I’d probably still hide them, like you said I’m all about being discreet!) 🙂
I Love U. They’re so comfortable, and they are super absorbent even though they’re thin. They’re awesome.
The packaging is adorable! I don’t feel like I need to hide anything, but these are so fun.
How fun! I love pretty things, and don’t see why feminine hygiene products have to be boring.
Nice of them to give a sample. Always been good products.
Mm, not really discreet. My husband is used to it now and I think I’m at the age where I don’t get as embarrassed about it as I used to.
The packaging really is such an improvement over those ugly, plain wrappers they used to come in. No need to hide them anymore, for sure!
Things have come a long way, haven’t they?! If these were in a purse I’m sure no one would guess what they even are with the cute wrappers.
I’m always on the lookout for a good pad that doesn’t leak!
it is great that a company that makes products that women need can make them fun and colorful. These are a great product!
I’m totally not embarrassed to buy them nor is my husband.:) Love the pretty designs on these!
Kotex has always been a quality brand. I always feel protected with Kotex.
I only have a period once every three months thanks to my birth control pills, but I always use Kotex when I do! They have awesome products!
I never really felt I had to be discreet when I was younger, or even now. I think its sad that our society has a way of making us feel shameful for having a period. I am loving the funky package design these days!
I love all the Colors. I’m not too worried about being discreet but I know my girls will when it comes their time so this is great!
I love the look of this packaging. I will have to stock up on these for my Daughter for her Dorm room.
Well, lucky for me, I don’t have a period anymore. My daughter uses U by Kotex and she doesn’t care who knows she has her period!
I love using anything by Kotex. Their products work great!
Thank you for highlighting these products today! I always think it is cool to be a tad discreet in this way!
I have never used Kotex but I love their products. I flow very heavy so thin pads won’t help me at all but I do love the packaging. Wish I had that when I was in high school
Girl yes, I used to hate when a guy would ring me up in a store. Now I could care less. Everyone woman has a period. These pads are pretty. I’ll have to get a sample. 😉
I just tried these for the first time a couple of months ago and I really like them. I love the fun packaging.
I love the knew packaging and feel that they are actually cute enough to display. I will have to check these out!
I really love the designs on the box too! Definitely good idea to have a really secure and discreet pad
These are pretty I like them, its shocking that some women still feel embarrassed about periods. Maybe some older generations yes but these days I think almost everyone knows lol 🙂
I actually have the tampons under my sink! I really liked the bright colors because when I though them down in my purse they are always easy to find in the bottom of it!
I use this brand. I don’t do too much of the pads, but I like the pantiliners and tampons. They seem pretty discreet in the packaging, but you still know what they are. LOL!
I use Kotex and I like it.I think that’s all I’ve been as far I remember. The packaging is colorful.
Their packaging is super cute! I don’t feel the need to be secretive during my period at all. As you said, it’s a natural occurrence.
Love the packaging! However, we still know what they are. No need to be secretive. We all have them!
The best part of this post? Haha, “we need to have a book Every woman menstruates”! Hilarious:). The new packaging is pretty cute.1616
The packaging alone is super cute and fun. I agree they look to pretty to hide. 🙂
Those are pretty packages. Such fun designs. I can see how they would appeal to a younger girl for sure.
What a very pretty packaging! It’s amazing that Kotex have thought of these, no more hiding!
I no longer have to purchase these products at all–thankfully those days are OVER!! Yes, I used to be very discreet. They certainly didn’t have pretty packaging when I had to buy pads or tampons.
This packaging is great for teens to carry around with them. Most boys would have no idea what it was.
Love the packaging! You can see the brand really thought about it. I wouldn’t be ashamed to display it in my bathroom. 😛
They do come in pretty packaging. I like the brand.
I love their packaging! Very discreet and fun. Plus I’m a big fan of the brand.
It’s so true, why are periods such a big secret and every woman goes through it? Those are such cute packages! I haven’t used kotex in YEARS.
I love all the pretty packaging and no, I aint the least bit worried about it, needing to use menstrual products are just a part of life like having to use the bathroom.
I really like how cool they made the packaging.
These are so cute! I am not shy about my personal needs, it’s a part of life and because of the “gift” I am able to create life! I do love when a company takes time to make a beautiful, quality product though!
Very cute packaging they have. I love Kotex, they make great products.
I really love the U by Kotex line. They are cute and get the job done, what more could you ask for?
As a designer myself, I LOVE the fact that Kotex re-invented the packaging for an age-old product. I’m sure many women will find this to be an embarassment-saving feature 🙂
