Movie Review: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (2017) #BeOurGuest Friday 17 March, 2017
Today Disney’s Beauty and The Beast is in theaters and I am so excited to share my thoughts and reviews on the film. The 1991 version is the one I grew up on and is still on of my favorite animated films. I was so happy to learn the animated Beauty and the Beauty was getting a modern live-action production. I took my eight year old niece Jordan, and I don’t think she seen the original but she was just as excited to see this like me. I am such as big kid…I know I was more excited than her!

Jordan came to the movies very festive! I was only a few years younger than her when the original came out (dont try to add up how old I am, old man). The production of this film was beautifully made with the live-action personified version, beautiful costumes, makeup, and the musicals were authentic to the cartoon.

Celebrating one of the most beloved tales ever told, Beauty and the Beast is the fantastic journey of Belle(Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by Beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within.
In addition to Watson and Stevens, Disney has assembled an all-star cast, including Luke Evans(Gaston), Josh Gad(LeFou), Ewan McGregor(Lumière), Emma Thompson(Mrs. Potts), Ian McKellen(Cogsworth), Kevin Kline(Maurice), Stanley Tucci(Maestro Cadenza), Gugu Mbatha-Raw(Plumette) and Audra McDonald(Madame de Garderobe) and more!
This time around, we get to see new faces of diversity, which include Audra McDonald (Madame de Garderobe) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette). From Princess And The Frog, Aladdin, Mulan, Elena Avalor, Queen Of Katwe, Moana to now Beauty and the Beast, Walt Disney Pictures has truly embraced diversity and becoming more inclusive than ever.
Speaking of celebrating inclusivity, at the screening the guest was presented with a Belle we’ve never seen before. She was beautiful and definitely still gave a princess flair in her African inspired gown and hair wrap.
Belle means beauty. Belle showed us a new princess look in the Atlanta screening!

Jordan had a blast at the Beauty and the Beast screening and clearly I did too. I am such a big kid and I am just so happy to enjoy this live-action remake with her. My noslagia was fulfilled and the new one did my childhood animated version justice!

I made a date with my daughter to watch this movie together. It will bring back so many memories, including that time when i took ker to watch the animated film when she was still a little girl.
The kids are looking forward to watching this movie! I hope there is something “new” about it since everybody already knows about this classic fairy tale..but still excited for this 🙂

Loved your review! I had never heard of Gugu before but she was absolutely stunning as Plumette! I was so afraid when I heard they were making a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast as it has always been my favorite Disney film. I hoped it would live up to the original and I must say it exceeded my expectations! It was beautiful!
I’ve heard nothing but great things about this movie! I can’t wait to go see it soon. I wish my little people were old enough to care but at least I’ll be able to share with them when they are older.
I cannot wait to see the new Beauty and the Beast! Its one of my favorites from childhood as well. I feel such a special connection to this one though because I made a 1st birthday Belle Dress for a baby girl whose mom ordered it from me (my 1st custom order!)… and I loved how it came out! It’s like a baby belle gown… so I cannot wait to see how my version compared to the actual Belle dress in the movie. Your review makes me want to get tickets tonight to see it… so looking forward to it!

This put a smile on my face. There is a meaning beyond this movie that helps us to look beyond the big picture and see what is really there. I still need to watch this episode and see what it is all about. Belle is really beautiful.

We were able to get an advanced viewing of this, and it is absolutely amazing. It made me an even bigger fan than I was before!

I am a huge fan. Beauty is my daughter’s equivalent to Elsa! It was her first Disney princess. We had the clothes, the doll, the backpack!
I am in love with the African inspired belle dress and head wrap! So beautiful.
To be honest I am not looking forward to this movie. It’s another clinch among a dozen others. Disney really needs to broaden.
