I had an amazing Mememorial Day Weekend? It was so much to do and a great way to kick off the summer! The best way to have ablast in Atlanta and start your memorial weekend off right is with the annual Atlanta Jazz Fesitival. 1000s of people come out every year with their friends, family, spouse, etc…food/drinks, blanket and just a good time in the big park of Piedmont enjoying jazz music. It is so much fun I go every year.
Picnics and selfie sticks really go great together! Selfies sticks are the next best things since…social media period! I was obsessed with taking selfies (or usies) with my friends! We were all having a ball, enjoying the music, with plenty of food and drinks. We had a tent set up and even celebrated my friend Nina’s birthday out there. This is definitely one of my favorite times of year…so much fun!
At the Jazz Fest my friends and I all brought something to bring to the park. I decided to make this Citrus Delight Mix as a cool refreshing summer drink to having in the sun. I made a lot of it and it was super easy to make to share with a lot of people.
It’s so simple…the main ingredient is the SunnyD! I literally haven’t enjoyed this beverage since I was a child, but I found an adult way to spruce it up! There were no alchol in these drinks…because we had kids at this gathering so this is also children-friendly! We can’t taint a childhood classic drink like that…at least I didnt (wink).
It’s such an easy breezy drink! You only need SunnyD, Pineapple Juice and strawberries for garnish! Half parts SunnyD + Half parts pineapple juice and mix it up! Trust me this is the new and improved way to drink a childhood classic! There is also an additional alternative if you want to get a tad bit fancier. You can add selizer water to this as well for a spritzier effect! Another tidbit* feel free to subsitute ice for frozen strawberries as well. This drink looks a little exotic and fun, your friends are gonna feel like they are sipping a drink in the Carribeans without leaving the country!
Definitely the star of the drink are these cute little 6.75oz SunnyD drinks! . Sunny D is no longer just for kids, grown-ups can enjoy this drink with a citrus flair too!
I bought my SunnyD in a 24ct. 6.75oz. bottles in the Tangy Original flavor at Sam’s Club. They should be on Rollback at $5.38 vs. the original retail price of $5.98. Buying them in bulk was really cost effective and also great to take some of these to the park as well.
Adult and Children, young or old(er), we all have one thing in common. We love the summertime and we all love refreshing beverages and making memories this seasonSo as you plan your vacations, staycations and update your summer wardrobe…I truly hope this will be a summer to remember. Trust me, this is gonna be a mega-summer for me…lots of trips lined up and more and of course they will be shared on the blog. Memorial Weekend is where my fun began for the summer, and I hope it kicked it off for you as well!
