Preachers of LA Season 2 Returns to Oxygen | ATL Screening Preview Wednesday 20 August, 2014

With the upcoming debut of the popular reality show, I got an opportunity to interview two of the most dominate characters on the show, Bishop Ron Gibson and Bishop Neil Jones, on the behalf of Sheen Magazine. I pre-interviewed the prior to the Atlanta screening of Season 2, in which I got to ask them both intimate questions in regards to whats going on in today’s society. They are both very strong minded, vocal, and passionate when they speak. I asked them many questions on their thoughts on the new super controversial show Black Jesus, how they’ve lost church members from their show, and their current thoughts on the Ferguson and Mike Brown situation.
The body of Christ is universal, it’s not just African American, and everyone who claims to be a Christian are expected to open our mouths and say something in reference to this situation. – Bishop Jones
Good men do nothing, so it’s time for men to cry loud and spare not. No justice, no peace no racist police. The officer who is affiliated with the Mike Brown situation got caught up in a systemic that makes him think he is the Lord over people because he’s been empowered to protect and serve…I’m upset, appalled of the senseless killing that took place in St.Louise, now I don’t condone rioting, but I certainly understand it. – Bishop Gibson
Oxygen Media and AMC Theatres gave fans of the show an advance screening of the season two premiere of the hit docu-series “Preachers of L.A.” exclusively at select AMC locations. A full week before the show premiered, screenings will be open to the public and held simultaneously at five AMC locations in Atlanta, Houston, Washington DC, Dallas and Tampa. The cast made special appearances in Atlanta and Dallas for exclusive Q&A sessions with the audience. The highly anticipated series gives viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different, world-renowned mega-pastors in Southern California: Bishop Noel Jones, Minister Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Jay Haizlip, Pastor Wayne Chaney, and Bishop Ron Gibson.
Season Two premieres on Wednesday, August 20 at 10 PM ET/PT on Oxygen.
I have never heard of this show, but how cool that you got to go to this event.
I haven’t heard of this show before. It seems like they have a reality show for most anything now.
I’ve never even heard of this show! I’d love to check it out. I just don’t have cable. Will have to see if I can stream it somewhere!
Looks like a great event! I hope the show does well.
Mitch
I have never seen the show, but I’m intrigued. Now I will have to tune in to see what all the controversy is about.
I have never seen this show and perhaps never will, but I have seen previews. Maybe I am too quick to judge
I haven’t heard of it, but that’s not new with me. I’m terrible with watching shows. If I see it though, per chance, I’ll stop and check it out!
I’ve never seen this show, but it sounds really great. I’ll have to DVR it.
I’ve never seen or heard of this show before! It looks wonderful though, I wish I had cable now instead of just Netflix!
What a fun event! I haven’t seen this show but will look for it!
I haven’t heard of the show but I don’t watch much TV anymore. I just don’t have the time these days!
I hadn’t heard of this one, but it sounds interesting! I may have to give it a view or several.
I’ve never even heard of this show. We don’t have Oxygen here in Trinidad. I will have to check it out online.
Oh this movie sounds really great. What a fun event!
Never heard of it and while I dont watch reality tv to often this show looks decent
I haven’t heard of this show, but it does sound really good! I will have to check it out.
I’ve not seen the show (we don’t have cable). Looks interesting. How neat that you were able to talk candidly with them.
I’ve never heard of this show. I don’t watch any reality tv anymore. I find many of these people are famous for NO reason.
Since I don’t have cable I don’t keep up much with Oxygen Network. I have never heard of this show.
What a fun opportunity. I hadn’t heard of this show before today. (Only the preacher’s daughters show!)
I haven’t heard of this show but it looks interesting. You always see a lot of drama with shows like this I would be curious to watch and see if it happens with preachers too.
I haven’t heard of this one before. I bet it’s pretty good. I’ll have to add it to my dvr lineup!
I’ve heard of this show, but never have seen it! What a fabulous preview!
I have never heard of the show! I will check and see if we get it in Canada. Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t seen this show just yet, but I think I would like it! Look at you always rubbing elbows with celebrities!
My hubby doesn’t work in the summer so we usually shut off our cable until late Aug. so I have not heard about this. I’m kind of interested, only because my husband is a minister and I like how you put it, “they live human lives and have their own obstacles” and also because you said they are not the mega-church, materialistic types. I have a BIG pet peeve about that. I am going to have to find this show, thanks for sharing!
Look at you at another awesome event! I don’t have Oxygen but maybe I should!
I hadn’t heard of this show but it looks interesting from what you are saying. I will look out for it.
I have not heard of the show. But it looks like an interesting show that I might enjoy.
The whole show is fascinating to me. We watch it every week. I used to attend Bishop Jones church and the other ministers I’ve heard at my church or on the radio here at some point or another. It’s crazy to see them doing reality TV.
It’s always a riot to watch these shows. I have seen Preachers of LA yet, but I’m going to schedule it on Comcast.
I wouldn’t call myself a fan, but I do watch. I have mixed feels about this show.
