Tyler Perry’s First Netflix Comedy Series ‘She the People’—Vote for Laughter on May 22nd! Wednesday 14 May, 2025

Get ready for a dose of political humor with a Southern twist! Tyler Perry is bringing his signature storytelling to Netflix with She the People, his first-ever comedy series on the streaming platform. Starring Terri J. Vaughn, the show promises a hilarious and heartwarming look at what happens when ambition, family, and Mississippi politics collide. The first eight episodes premiere on Netflix May 22nd.
TRAILER
The series follows Antoinette Dunkerson (Vaughn) as she embarks on her campaign for Lieutenant Governor. Winning the election is only the beginning of her challenges. Antoinette must navigate the sexist and condescending world of state politics while simultaneously keeping her family grounded and united in the public eye – no easy feat! Expect plenty of relatable family moments, sharp wit, and unexpected turns.
Tyler Perry might have crafted a clever tribute to Atlanta’s current mayor, Andre Dickens, by creatively reimagining the name for his fictional political powerhouse, Antoinette Dunkerson, in She the People.
