Where To Eat and Drink in Charleston: Prohibition Thursday 23 May, 2019
A nod to the classic 1920’s speakeasy, Prohibition feels like you’re stepping back in time with its bourbon barrel ceiling and vintage inspired decor. Their cocktails and cuisine, however, are anything but old-fashioned its modern and innovative!
This spot is perfect for a beautiful night out for happy hour, dinner drinks/dates and just a really chill scene in Charleston. I am so happy I made a visit here and enjoyed this atmosphere in downtown Charleston.
There are an array of inventive crafted cocktails by Beverage Director Jim McCourt, with thought-provoking libations. In the kitchen our acclaimed chef, Greg Garrison, puts a sophisticated spin on Southern classics.
Try the whole experience with our casual tasting menu paired with dealers choice beverage pairings. There is traditional indoor seating, but the cool speakeasy part comes in with the tucked away Patio. You would of never thought there was an amazing patio scene right here!
PATIO

The decor outside gives your modern vintage Prohibition energy. Lots of wood accents and furniture, with little trinkets and
Let get into one of the main attraction aka “cocktail wizardry” Prohibition has to offer. Prohibition has won several “best cocktails” in Charleston awards such as in Thrillist and Eater and I can see why!
Happy Hours: Monday – Friday between 4-6 p.m. Happy Hour specials include $5 cocktails and snacks, plus $1 oysters.
CUISINE
Prohibition is an amazing cocktail bar, amazing ambiance but please do not skip the cuisine. The food here is absolutely amazing and the menu is very diverse from small starters, shared plates and entrees that you will be highly impressed with!
If all the drinks, food and ambiance wasn’t enough, Prohibition host the best bands and DJs in town 6 nights a week from blues and soul to jazz and swing. They have live music and even complimentary dance lessons to really keep this place engaged and entertained!
Prohibition is located at 547 King Street and is open seven days a week from 5 pm – 2 am.
There is also brunch service on Saturday and Sundays from 11 am – 3 pm.
