Hot out of the Marra Forni oven: GenuinePizza at Phipps Plaza has a new offer for hungry families needing a break from the monotony of the workweek. Beginning April 25, parties of two or more guests who dine on Wednesdays after 6 p.m. can enjoy a free Classic Cheese pizza with purchase of one or more pizzas from the restaurant’s menu.
The popular casual pizza restaurant from James Beard Award winning-chef Michael Schwartz opened at Phipps Plaza earlier this year and serves 11 hand-formed pies with creative topping combinations and honest ingredients, as well as snacks, soups, salads, entrées and desserts, with a list of approachable wines and many Atlanta craft beers to complement its food. Signature items include Short Rib Pizza; Polenta Fries with spicy ketchup; Warm Brussels Sprouts and Burrata; and the famous Chocolate Chunk Cookie, warmed in the oven to order.
GenuinePizza is family-friendly and can seat 64 inside, including seven seats at the counter and six at the pizza bar. Outdoor dining for 36 is available weather permitting. The space also offers a private dining room for six to eight guests – perfect for business lunches and intimate gatherings.

Focaccia Bread and Kale Salad
Just wanted to highlight to try this savory focaccia bread. Jordan’s mom really devoured it. It was her appetizer and she barely wanted to share it. Also the Kale Salad is a good starter as well, it is pretty sizable and enough to share with two people (unless you want to make this a meal).
These polenta fries were fun to look at but for Jordan she finally gets to play with her food! I barely could get this photo because she was excited to try these Jenga looking polenta fries! Definitely if you have kids order this!
I also wanted to highlight this Roasted Eggplant as it is actually one of Genuine Pizza’s entree dishes. Yes Genuine Pizza serves more than pizzas, giving variety to people who want more than pizza; such options like Pan Roasted Skirt Steak, Oven Roasted 1/2 Organic Chicken and Pan Seared Mahi.
Time to get the Classic Cheese Pizza. We really got this for Jordan, because yes Jordan is still at the age where she basically doesn’t want all the bells and whistles when it comes to cheese pizza. She was perfectly fine with this and this was the free classic cheese pizza when you come on Wednesdays! She like it a lot! She was excited this whole pizza was just for her (but she definitely took most of it home).
Rock Shrimp – roasted lemon, manchego, scallion, cilantro
Now for you to get the free Classic Cheese pizza, the table should purchase one or more pizzas from the restaurant’s menu. I order the Rock Shrimp Pizza. As a new pescatarian (someone who eats seafood and vegetarian options) I was excited to try this on their menu. Shrimp is definitely my new chicken, so any abundance of shrimp makes me happy. This was so delicious and the shrimp was fresh and plentiful on each slice of pizza. I definitely can’t wait to return and orders this back.

Inside there is a little nook where it was a semi-private area where a small family can sit in this cute dining area. I thought it was cute and it is equipped with its own personal flat-screen. Next time I would love to dine here with a small group of friends!
Now the server was awesome because he kept stressing to Jordan one of the cool perks of Genuine Pizza is there is a chalkboard wall. So Jordan’s highlight of this night beside her own classic pizza was playing on their chalk-wall. See everyone, all kids can step away from the tablet and still enjoy a good chalk drawing session! This is in the same area where the private dining nook is. So a fun entertaining aspect of Geunine Pizza of this chalk-wall for the kids (and adults).
