Where To Stay In Playa Del Carmen: Hotel Lunata Tuesday 10 July, 2018
I have been having a wonderful short-term expat experience in Playa Del Carmen, but one of my wishes was to stay directly in the heart of the famous Fifth Avenue. Hotel Lunata is in the heart of all the Fifth Avenue strip, and its such a cute traditional hacienda style hotel that will make you feel at home!
Hotel Lunata is a small and charming Mexican Hacienda style hotel located on Fifth Avenue the soul and heart of Playa del Carmen. Lunata is a special place reserved for guests who appreciate good living, an oasis of elegance, hospitality and personalized service with great warmth.
So what is hacienda style? Mexican hacienda style is vintage is express a rugged and romantic beauty with rich colors, well crafted textiles, traditional Spaniard architecture and natural materials. Check out some of the amazing hacienda style decor and motif this charming hotel presented itself to me during my stay.
DELUXE KING SIZE ROOM
Decorated by the best craftsmen in Mexico Deluxe rooms have king size beds and dining rooms with mini-bars and are full of incredible details: wooden beams, sloping colonial tile roofs and niches decorated with hand-painted tiles. Each De luxe room offers a terrace or a balcony overlooking our garden (a quiet option), or 5th avenue (a more lively option). Attention in details Each of the ten spacious rooms of the Hotel Lunata was designed to please the eyes and comfort the soul. Original furniture selected from various regions of Mexico, offer comfort and unique style in each room combining the traditional charm of Mexican haciendas with total comfort.
Characteristics of the rooms:
- Free WIFI
- Central air conditioner
- Fridge and mini bar
- TV Flat LCD screen with international cable channels
- Private balcony or terrace with garden view or 5th.
- Bird Safe for your valuables
- Comfortable orthopedic mattresses of superior quality
- Non-smoking rooms available
- Private bathroom with talavera tiles and amenities
- Double window with double glazing that helps to soundproof
The outside yard of Hotel Lunata is really peacefully. I am all about greenery and its like walking into a private jungle slightly hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Fifth Avenue. Playa Del Carmen is known for hammocks in lots of accommodations, but this hammock is places in a cute curated jungleish oasis. There are more seating and chairs for mingling and more. Also there is a dining area under their created hacienda styled hut where every day is free complimentary breakfast!
INDEPENDENT HOTEL LUNATA MINI MARKET
The little market is noticable right before you come inside to inquire about Hotel Lunata. I will admit initally walking down Fifth Street, I missed that this was a hotel because I noticed the cute market items first. So what makes this hotel unique is that it is a market place and hotel in one. The entire 5th Avenue strip has a plethora of souviner shops and you can by your common trinkets from the local shops nearby. But as you can see what makes Hotel Lunata’s mini market different is that they are unique artisan handcrafted Mexican keepsakes that you will definitely not see in other stores up or down the Fifth Avenue. These are unique pieces, very artistic and true Mexican memorabilia to take home, this is the cutest spot right in from of Hotel Lunata.
