Chateau Elan Winery and Resort Birthday Getaway Wednesday 15 February, 2017
I had a wonderful birthday getaway at the famous Chateau Elan Winery & Resort. It was a perfect experience of a staycation and an excuse to try some fabulous wine. Chateau Elan is only 50miles outside of the city so it was a short community to this fun resort. My birthday was Feburary 6th and I couldn’t have brought my birthday in any better!
What a fab way to bring in my birthday. I stay on the resort at the new Hampton Inn Suites that just opened up a few months ago. I had dinner at Paddys and the next day a full wine tasting and tour.
Staying at the Hampton Inn Suites was a nice touch for the staycation. I got a suite with my view overlooking the vineyards and the winery. It was perfect.

Onto the actual winery. So immediately you can see it has an open floor plan with one side for dining and hosting private events.
The other side is strictly for wine tastings and purchasing wine and products. This has also been renovated to accommodate more tasting and larger groups.
Now I been to a few wineries but this one was one of my favorites. We ordered a meat and cheese platter to go with the tastings. I got to sample as many wines as I liked and I really enjoyed the variety. Although I am a red wine girl, I actual bought one of the signature Chateau Elan’s Summer White Wine. It was so good. It had peach notes in it and I just had to buy it from the shops.
After the tasting we got a behind the scenes tour of how the wine is made. If you do come to Chateau Elan for a tasting you can definitely ask for this tour. So there are these oak barrels where the wine ages for months to get the significant taste. It also gives off a little of the oak flavor for added richness.

Apart of the tour as well was showcasing how they get packaged in the wine bottle and even showed a room that can be reserved for wedding receptions. They say they host many weddings here, because you know those hipster barn style, rustic weddings are in so this is a great venue along with its such a great property.
Speaking of property, I couldn’t get enough of this location. It was so beautiful. It felt so enchanting. I did what any great blogger would do…take lots of photo ops! I had to soak in the beauty of this winery and the vineyard.
Most importantly this place is photo op ready! I took amazing photos at this location in the front of the winery and in the vineyards. So please come with your camera ready and photo shoot ready too!
Chateau Elan Winery and Resort was a perfect birthday getaway and something different. Look you can never go wrong when wine is involved. I would also recommend this place for a great romantic getaway, a girls weekend, a day trip with friends to get sample some wine, and one of my favorite ideas BRUNCH!
Although I didn’t get a chance to showcase the brunch here in this blog, they have an amazing brunch spread you all have to check out. You all know I am a brunch girl. So if you don’t want to spend the night, but want to come here just for something fun to do outside the city I highly recommend this place. It is definitely an experience. Wine lovers will be in heaven!
As far as staying on the resort, you have many option. The Hampton Inn Suites are definitely more economically friendly, but if you are looking for a more upscale experience you should look into Chateau Elan Inn and Villas At Chateau Elan. They have several packages to fit each unique need.

I have never been to a winery, but this one looks amazing! Actually, we have a couple in Maine – and I would never think that we could grow enough grapes to actually make wine in Maine. Maybe this summer my husband and I can make the trip over.

I can say that I have not been to a winery before but I am a huge fan of wine so I definitely need to visit one. My favorite red wine is pinot noir.
