Bo’ Peep is Back and Things to Know about her Return in Toy Story 4 | #ToyStory4 Tuesday 28 May, 2019
Thank you to Disney/Pixar Studios for giving me a first look at #ToyStory4 for the official press junket. Toy Stoy 4 debuts in theaters June 21st.
If you don’t know, not too long ago I was invited by Disney/Pixar Studios on one of the official press junkets for the Toy Story 4 film. I am a child of the 90s, I was a kid when the original Toy Story debuted in 1995, and excited for the franchise to be continuing and growing with the story!
In my last post I introduced a new character to the Toy Story franchise named Forky, but we need to talk about a toy who hasn’t been seen on screen in 20 years! I am excited to announce that Bo Peep has returned in Toy Story 4 and back and better than ever! Check out a little of her synopsis of her return below.
BO PEEP is a long-lost friend of Woody, Buzz and the gang, who always shared a special connection with Woody while residing with her sheep on a lamp base at Andy’s house. “There is definitely love between them,” says Nielsen. “We see in the prologue just how hard it was for Woody to let her go.”

After being separated for years, Bo has become chipped and discarded, but her spirit is far from broken. She has grown into an adventure-seeking free spirit whose strength and sarcasm belie her delicate porcelain exterior. When she and Woody are reunited under unlikely circumstances, Bo realizes just how much she’s missed him, and can’t wait to show him what she’s been up to. “Bo’s taken control of her own destiny,” says Cooley. “While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again.”
Annie Potts returns as the voice of Bo. “Annie not only brings emotion to Bo, she completely fleshes out that character,” says Cooley. “She’s heartwarming and funny, and Annie has a natural sarcasm that’s just perfect.

I think it is extremely exciting that Bo Peep has returned to Toy Story 4! It’s been too long and she has grown and changed a lot since we last seen here. I’ve created two infographics and featured an animated description of Modern Bo Peeps new and updates on her life!

Now Bopeep is more contoured and features stand out more.Research trips to look at figurines and model dolls to model BoPeep after likeness. Her most notable look beside her fashion is the glazing to her animated appearance to remind the audience she is made of porcelain.

Let’s make it be known that Bo Peep is tougher, but still feminine and NOT a tomboy. Confident, voice of reason.

Bo Peep’s Updated Wardrobe
Redesigning her fashion since we are reconnecting with her after two decades. Modern Bo has different fashion variation of her outfit (shows she is adaptable). Modern BoPeep had real life tailors who helped animate her new outfits and create the new fashionable look.
It was an honor to be at the Pixar Studios to get the exclusive first look at Bo Peep’s new apperance and personality and can’t wait to see how she thrive in Toy Story 4. She is a strong toy in this movie and a great way to introduce to children that toys that look like dolls aren’t all dainty! Bo Peep is breaking bearers and not letting her looks define her strength and form as a toy. Even toys can evolve, and girl toys can be more than just pretty play things.
Thrilled to see more of Bo Peep, more new friends and the original gang in Toy Story 4 this summer. The Toys are Back in Town!

I can’t wait for number 4 to come out! I was just a kid too when I saw the first one, so I pretty much grew up with this franchize as well. I’m still a kid at heart
I like the updated Bo Peep and the fact that they kept her feminine. I can’t wait for my new granddaughter to be old enough to watch this! That way, I have an excuse to see it 🙂
