Founded by Florida A&M University alumnus Leo Bennett, Funk Fest has evolved into so much more than just a music festival—it’s a vibrant cultural celebration that brings people together. This year’s lineup was nothing short of spectacular!
FUNK FEST DAY ONE
On the first night, festival-goers enjoyed the smooth sounds of The Isley Brothers, with performances from Carl Thomas, Jon B, Donell Jones and Stokley adding to the excitement.
Funk Fest Night One was nothing short of unforgettable, headlined by the legendary Isley Brothers—a transgenerational group that has been shaping music and artistry for nearly 70 years! The Isleys took the stage and delivered an electrifying performance, treating the audience to timeless classics like “Between The Sheets,” “Voyage to Atlantis,” “For the Love of You,” and “Choosey Lover.”
The crowd erupted with excitement when they played “Contagious,” a modern hit that has become a fan favorite. They even took us on a nostalgic journey back to 1959, closing their set with their iconic smash hit “Shout.” It was a true honor to witness Ronald and Ernie Isley, two of the grandfathers of Funk, perform with such incredible energy and soul right here in Atlanta. This night will be remembered as a legendary moment in Funk Fest history!
