Pinky Cole’s Presentation at Comcast RISE Kick Off Event Highlights Support for Atlanta’s Entrepreneurs and Announcing their Grant Opportunities Friday 19 April, 2024

Comcast is set to make dreams come true for 100 small businesses in and around Metro Atlanta through its Comcast RISE program.

As Atlanta gears up for the next round of Comcast RISE recipients in 2024, the city is buzzing with excitement over the potential empowerment of local entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Comcast RISE kick-off event at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (R.I.C.E) marked the beginning of this transformative journey.

The grant packages offer a wealth of resources and programs aimed at bridging the gap towards digital equity in Atlanta. From valuable business coaching sessions and educational resources to a $5,000 monetary grant, creative production support, media schedules, and technology makeovers, Comcast RISE’s dedication to nurturing digital equity and entrepreneurship shines through its all-encompassing support package. Since its launch in 2020, the program has made a tangible impact by assisting over 13,000 businesses across the nation.

The event saw enlightening briefings from key figures like Jay Bailey, President & CEO of the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (R.I.C.E), and Mike McArdle, Senior Vice President of the Big South Region at Comcast. The highlight of the day was the inspiring keynote speech by Pinky Cole Hayes, the dynamic Founder and CEO of Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan.

Pinky Cole has cemented her place as a symbol of Atlanta’s entrepreneurial spirit, having launched her successful brand Slutty Vegan in 2018, which has now expanded to 14 locations with a new one set to open at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson airport. In her speech, Pinky emphasized the role of community in her journey to success, stating, “How I intended to ‘rise’ above, no pun intended, is through community.”

She credited the unwavering support of the Atlanta community for bringing her brand to life and commended Comcast for being an integral part of the community through the Comcast RISE program, offering grants to aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into reality.

The event also brought another exciting announcement – the R.I.C.E Center would be the recipient of a generous $1 million donation from Comcast.

Applications for the grants will be open from May 1 to May 31, 2024, with the grant recipients being announced in August 2024. To view the full list of eligibility criteria, please visit www.ComcastRISE.com.
