[Recap] Stone Mountain Christmas Is More Lit Up Than Ever Before! Monday 21 November, 2016
It’s that time of year again where Stone Mountain Park celebrates Christmas time! If you live in Georgia and truly want to get into the holiday spirit I really recommend you come here with your family. I said this last year as I brought my baby cousin experience Stone Mountain Christmas but when I tell you they outdid it this year…they really did! More lights, many more lights and colorfulness even before you enter the park. Its a glow of more than two million lights, festive music and visits from some your favorite holiday characters.
Last year I brought Monet (who was 3 years old at the time), but this year her friend Channing, my goddaughter went with her to experience it for the first time. These 4 year olds are great friends and already experienced Stone Mountain Spring Break Fun this year, so of course Christmas would be a treat together.
So one of the first things the kids got to experience was the parade! They saw the Ice Queen (which reminds them of Else from Frozen) and Santa and Mrs.Claus. They were so excited as they rolled past the kids and they waved and said hello with the cute Christmas music. Other Christmas characters were in the parade as well such as The Gingerbread man,Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and more too. They met all of them later on at the event.
Initially Monet did not want no parts of Bumble. She didn’t see the 4-d movie yet that he was featured in. In the movie he is actually nicer and not scary like in the original. Channing instantly liked Bumble she said he is so cute. Of course when Channing got excited to be near Bumble, Monet warmed up and wanted to take some photos near him. This was a cute moment.
This was a cute storytime with the nice lady who told the story of the Gingerbread man. The kids were really into it! A surprise came about in the story when the Gingerbread man made a pop-up appearance in the middle of the story!
The beloved movie comes to you in a new and exciting format! Inside the 4D theatre, enter the world of Rudolph, Bumble, and the Misfit Toys and experience our new activities, décor, and photo opportunities. Then join Sam the Snowman for a viewing of this Christmas classic! Oh just in case you are wondering what makes 4-D different from 3-D, 4-D is more interactive! 4-D makes it FEEL like you are in the film, so bubbles came out to look like snow, there is windy on windy parts of the movie and even little sprinkles of water in wet scenes of the movie (dont worry no one gets wet).
This was one of the hightlights of this Stone Mountain Christmas experience was meeting Rudolph and Claurice! They literally ran to these characters it was so fun for them. It made my heart melt because I grew up on the classic animated film like all of us did, and to see it come to life for them was really cute to watch. Rudolph’s nose really lit up in real life and they couldn’t get enough of hugging them. We literally had to pull them away from them. If it was up to them, they would of stayed there all night with them. Looks sometimes you don’t have to just take your kids to Disneyland to let them met some characters…they got to meet their favorites in Stone Mountain too.
The big bang of the evening was seeing the Ice Queen literally fly over Stone Mountain. She floating over the area near the toystore and she sprinkled the auidence with fake snow (bubbles) and a nighttime firework show! The kids loved seeing the Ice Queen float above them, that was truly magical for them.
