Where to Stay in Pittsburgh: Kimpton Hotel Monaco Friday 04 August, 2017
I have always wanted to stay at a Kimpton Hotel, and I got my opportunity as I stayed at the swanky Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh. Life is definitely “suite” as their brand slogan boast, and I got a chance to find out at this really cute boutique hotel in the city! Housed in a striking 1903 building in the Central Business District across from Mellon Square Park, Kimpton Hotel Monaco has a playfully bold design that’s unafraid to make a statement.
It is such a fun and contemporary hotel. It was so cute even the hallways were decorated modern and feminine chic.
Kelly green headboards, a bedside chandelier ensconced in a golden birdcage, and a wink to the city’s hockey team.
Forgot It? We’ve Got It!
Kimpton has you covered with the travel amenities you need — and maybe a few you hadn’t even considered. Items such as: Fashion Tape, Fan, Humidifier, Straightening Iron, Curling Iron, Steamer ,Feminine Care Products, Heating Pad, Makeup Mirror, Sewing Kit, Extension Cord, Computer/Mobile Chargers and more. Me personally I actually utilized these services and order a razor, hair bands, toothpaste and phone charge. Super convenient and happy Kimpton had those things readily available!
Another cool perk of this particular hotel is that you can get a fish delivered to your room. I was squealing with excitement when I heard this was possible. I ordered one for my room and I couldnt believe it. I named my orange goldfish Cheeto! No I didnt take my fishy home (Im not sure if that is an option or not) but it was cool to have an extra guest as company in the room.
The entire hotel is definitely giving a 1960s mod vibe. Cute colors, amazing prints and just vibrancy from the lobby to the lounges and in the rooms. Birdcages are definitely a fun theme in this hotel that add touches of whimsicalness to the hotel. In the lobby daily you can indulge in complimentary happy hour of wine and beer from 5-6pm.

I had a beautiful stay at Kimpton Monaco Pittsburgh hotel, and if this is the basis of all of the Kimpton hotels I cant wait to stay at another location!

I’ve been reading a lot of posts about Pittsburgh. This is a nice hotel. It looks very quiet and cozy. I will keep this in mind when I visit Pittsburgh.
When we stay in new cities, I always look for new and different places to stay.
I love the unique look of this hotel and the Forgot It – We’ve Got It feature is fantastic!

This hotel is beautiful! The colors are amazing and I love the birdcages! I use to date a guy who lived in Pittsburgh and I always felt is was so dreary. But seeing this hotel would definitely brighten up my experience! LOL

Being the weird person I am, decor and interior design play a role in my decision to stay at a hotel or lodging option. These pictures sold me. I love the color combos and decor. I would usually be creeped out by anything from the mid-1960s for fear of it being haunted.
Pittsburgh has been on my list for a fairly long time. This hotel looks amazing. I love the interiors and decor, especially the cages and painted walls. Cheers!!

My family and I visited Pittsburgh a year and a half ago. We visited the zoo and the children’s museum and had an awesome time. I would love to go back and explore more.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco sounds like a great place to stay in Pittsburgh. I love that they have so many travel amenities encase you forget something they have it. I love the fish idea! I have actually been in a hotel in Belgium where you could rent the fish from the reception if you were traveling alone and you were feeling lonely, for just a few euros. I thought it was really smart!

I know where to go now for a fish when I need one. That hotel looks so good and they will cater to your every need for anything it seems.
